say you have different skins for a battleship, its normal skin and say 1 or 2 other skins where the ship will look more battered with the other skins mounted. Giving the appearance the ship has just been through world war 3 or returned from a battle. An e.g. of this is the skins for the Redemption and Valor Battleships in 4.85, the Council battleship had a skin making it look rusted and battered but the Valor looked shiny.
Giving the player power over the ships look in this way would greatly increase quality of RP!

Texture files dont work like that as they are assigned to the model itself, unlike lights and engines which are actual components
