Oberth Engineering

Oberth Engineering is a company that manufactures engines,
mining machinery and robotic components.Their headquarters and factories are
on Planet New Berlin. The company opened up in 810 A.S.

It started to manufacture engine components and sell them to the Rheinland corporations.
The biggest competitor of the company was Daumann Heavy Construction.
In the year of 812 A.S. company got more attention when they developed a new engine HfE-79.
The engine was so successful that most of the fighter craft had installed it.
Oberth Engineering made a total of 20 different types of engines
(10 of them were prototypes and were never used in space).

Unfortunately Daumann made an alteration to the model and called it their own design.
Their well known reputation and underhanded tactics made sure
customers choose their engine instead of Oberth’s an upgrade of the engine and all money
went to Daumann. There was a last chance to make a new engine that would
change the construction design.

In 818 A.S. Tom Benz built NF/M5 engine.
It was built to use MOX for fighter craft and concentrated energy for
less fuel usage and better performance. In the first test the engine exploded at
ignition killing 15 people, including the inventor himself.

Since the Oberth Engineering’s huge catastrophe they are in huge debts,
a lot of employees had already left and all factory's are closed,
only one test site and a laboratory is working. As the director lost hope, a young physicist
applied for the job. After a month he brought a plan for a new device that changed everything.

As all factories are closed, Oberth Engineering is left to draw the new project and
sell it to other companies. When the company didn’t find investors, their
only chance was cooperating with their competitor Daumann Heavy Construction.

Oberth Engineering list of engines:


1. Kernel Mk I - very powerful engine, reported malfunctions, engines shutdown in mid space.
2.Kernel/M1 - engine blew up at ignition, no people were injured.
3.Kernel/NF- weak engine, for light fighters only(first successful engine)
4.HfE-1/M - strong engine used for transports(also a success)
5.Solar Interspace/SP-1 - engine shuts down when not in contact with the sun
6.Solar Interspace/MG-SP-2 - medium engine, problem solved adding MOX fueled engine, for transports only(success)
7.Solar/M-HfE - designed for battleships (used only on 2 battleships)
8.Kernel/Hf-29 - designed for gunboats tho never went to space.
9.HfE-79 - biggest success, able to power all civilian craft including transports.
10.NF/M5 - biggest loss, designed to power fighter craft with MOX fuel.



Kernel - first engine line built by Oberth Engineering. Kernel used part H-Fuel part electric generator.
NF- Nuclear Fusion engines.
HfE- H-fuel specific engines.
Solar Interspace- engines that convert sun power to actual force to move, but were very innefficient.
M/MG-Engines that use MOX fuel or MOX fueled generators.
