To Naia Myers, Valkyrie CO - Rommie - 02-15-2012 This is Admiral Vaughn speaking.
As you already know, Commander James Steele is heading to Tau with the 'Hellas' Thanatos. He should arrive soon I believe. Unfortunately, that's all I can spare right now. However, I'd like to talk to you in depth about the situation in the Taus. Things here have been moving pretty fast, and I haven't had the chance to discuss the Tau situation yet with the Admirals Board. <div align="right]Vaughn To Naia Myers, Valkyrie CO - Jansen - 02-15-2012 Transmission Incoming ID: Admiral Naia Myers Subject: Tau situation Location: Valkyrie CIC Admiral Vaughn, to be honest the situation here is bad, worse then we imagined it to be when we came here. We are nearly constantly under fire from either Gallic or Outcast vessels, scouting the area with light vessels appears to be impossible as well, we already lost 10 Nyxes and their pilots to the enemy, which left us in a even worse position which even the Hellas can not change.. The Bretonians do not seem to have any interest in aiding us up here, so I honestly doubt their intentions. You know that I never trusted them since the Planetform Incident. But what they do here does not seem to be anything but using us as cannon fodder to keep their own troops in safety. The Outcasts seem to have decreased their interest in operations here, however we still encounter them often enough for it to be a possible problem. The Royal Navy has this sector under control, we have to be careful to evade their larger patrols, because we would not stand a chance against them. If this doesnt change we might get into bigger trouble soon. Whenever they lose a ship they simply replace it with 2 new ones. To be honest I do not see a way we could successfully counter this on a long term. I would suggest to move all Colonial assets to safety as long as we have no solution for the problems here, I would rather not risk to lose the Valkyrie and her crew. -Adm. Myers To Naia Myers, Valkyrie CO - Rommie - 02-15-2012 I'm afraid leaving the Taus isn't going to be an option.
Vakyrie and Hellas are now ordered to begin search of Carrier Hades' remains. We're not stopping until we find it. I need the data on it. The Outcasts and the Gallics are of secondary concern. As for your feelings towards Bretonia, their already thin military assets can barely hold Leeds apparently. Though in one of the latest skirmishes, one of their secondary fleet admirals commanded an attack on one of our units. I've yet to receive a report on that however. ...Look. I don't like them any more than you do. If there's anything I learned from the old man Lamont, is that personal feelings are usually true, regardless of any official statements and all that political yadda-yadda. Still, it's the politics that direct us, regardless of where our feelings lie. Begin search for Hades. We'll stay in touch. <div align="right]Vaughn To Naia Myers, Valkyrie CO - Jansen - 02-15-2012 Transmission Incoming ID: Admiral Naia Myers Subject: Tau situation Location: Nemesis CIC We will start the search beginning at the last known destination in our former home. We will be as careful as possible, I will contact you again once we found the Hades or its leftovers. -Adm. Myers To Naia Myers, Valkyrie CO - Jansen - 02-15-2012 Transmission Incoming ID: Admiral Naia Myers Subject: Tau situation Location: Nemesis CIC Admiral Vaughn, we have spotted the Hades. The vessels location is the sector E6. As it seems the Commander found a the entrance to a jumphole and used it to escape and to prevent the vessels complete destruction. The Hades current status appears to be stable, the hull has many breaches, but most of the main sections appear to be intact. The engines too heavy damage and I doubt that we will be able to restore them, so the ship is unable to move. Attempting to tow the vessel to another place under the current circumistances is no option either. I would suggest to leave a group of technicans onboard to fix the vessels hull and weapon systems and to further use it as a frontier base. -Adm. Myers To Naia Myers, Valkyrie CO - Jansen - 02-17-2012 Transmission Incoming ID: Admiral Naia Myers Subject: Tau situation Location: Nemesis CIC Another status update, we have managed to get most weapon systems back online so the Hades should be able to defend itself. The Life support systems are back running as well, even though they are not completely stable at this moment. The front sections hull was fixed and there should be no major leaks left, the mid-section is still in work. Fixing the back appears to be impossible right now, we simply lack the resources and manpower to do this. -Adm. Myers |
