You buy Diamonds at Manhattan, then sell them at Leeds, then you go to Planet Stuttgart for Niobium, then bring that back to Manhattan. Rinse and repeat.

Or, you could do the Consumer Goods<->Food Rations one.
Buy Consumer goods at Manhattan, bring to Planet New London, then bring Food Rations from NL back to Manhattan.

Hehehe, Its not the first time that people have posted this kind of thing. Now My advice would be to find something that suits you... If you like the idea of running drugs, then go find some outcast or GC bases. If you like the idea of just being a staightforward legitamte kinda guy then go to all the major house planets and see whats about.
there is no "best trade route" there is only the trade route (or routes) that suit you.

Try to mine some precious metals and sell them. Or join a guild. Most guilds will give you some starting money.
As for the trade routes: artifacts - battleship Fes <-> light weapons - Manhattan. (Now this is dangerous, isn't it?:rolleyes:)
