SRP Regulations and Application Form - DiscoveryGC Moderators - 03-28-2012

Special Roleplay Request Regulations

1. 2 500 000 is the fee for an SRP application. It will be taken from the character identified and is not refundable.

2. The Application will be posted in this subforum, using the form provided in the following posts, and will only be visible once/if the SRP is approved.

3. The SRP application will be considered processed and decided on once it gains the uncontested vote of at least 3 members of staff, with at least one of those members being an admin. If the initial voting fails to reach a conclusion, the SRP will then be passed to an admin vote, and if the request fails to pass, the thread is closed and the application fails.

4. No Lobbying Rule: An applicant may not contact the staff in regards to their SRP request status while the request is being considered. The applicant may ask once, after a week, for a status update.

5. If the request is approved, the SRP holder will be placed under a keen watch. Any sanctions the SRP holder receives (on any character, even one unrelated to the SRP) may also impact their SRP depending on the severity of the sanction, resulting with a possible revoke decision in addition to other consequences. Administrators also reserve the right to revoke any SRP if the owner fails to meet the standards of an special roleplay character post approval.

6. The SRP application must have an extensive forum background, and the content linked in the request must either belong to the applicant, or be a group effort with the permission of everyone involved to use the material for the posted SRP request. It should be internally consistent and consistent with the mod lore.

7. Coupled with the forum backstory, the character which is the focus of the SRP should have a server presence of at least one month, building up the character ingame in a "legit" ship, rather than simply magically appearing after the SRP is granted.

8. If the request is approved, the applicant must be prepared to respond, within 7 days, in this subforum, to any SRP check-in posted by admin staff on a random basis. This post should link to relevant content in regards to section 5 of the original application and should show ongoing development. Failure will normally result in the SRP being revoked.

9. if the request fails, the player could try again with a similar concept in 2 weeks. If the SRP is simply reposted after a fail with few to no changes, it gets automatically denied. The 2 500 000 fee for the application applies to request reposts as well.

10. After approval, any changes made to the character apart from entirely cosmetic ones (e.g. lights and engine) is handled on an "only allowed if approved" basis. Changing the name of the character, the ship or its loadout, considerable changes to the diplomacy and reputation of the character, or change of ownership cannot be done without a prior admin approval in form of a SRP change request.

11. Special effects, lights, and engines can be requested as part of a SRP request, and will be approved if justified within the character's roleplay background.

12. Server Administrators reserve the right to revoke a special roleplay permission if it fails to meet the post-approval requirements, or the owner fails to keep to the expected quality standards. Furthermore, any sanctions the owner receives from the time of approval on any character related or unrelated to the approved request, would first and foremost effect the status of their special roleplay character.

12.1 Players or factions that had their characters stripped of SRP status can apply after three months time.

SRP Change Requests - fencore - 03-04-2013

Approved Characters Change Request Form

If you would like to make changes to your filed SRP, fill out the following form and post it in a new thread on this board. Make sure your thread title has "Change Request" specified in the title along with the name of the character you're requesting the change to. A ship caught not following its prescribed SRP that doesn't have an approved change request for the new loadout will have its original SRP stripped entirely.

If your ship was approved under one of the older systems and uses an outdated writeup, any change request should also include an updated writeup* using the current special roleplay request form. You must be the SRP holder listed in the original request to be able to update it.

Use the following form to post a change request for an existing special roleplay request:
Quote:1. Exact name of the character:

2. Link to the request to be amended:

3. What exactly do you want changed?

4. Why are these changes necessary?

5. Provide possible links to the relevant forum roleplay.

* Explanation: Posting a change request for an archived request has to include both a change request form, including the specific changes requested, and then a special roleplay request form with the writeup updated to include both the original request as well as the content of the change request.

Approved Requests Check-In Form

If a special roleplay request is approved, the applicant is required to post in this subforum again within 1 week of any check-in requests posted by admins. These will be random in nature with all SRP's checked sporadically.

The reply to a check-in request should be posted as a new thread in this subforum, and it will be reviewed by the staff. Once the check-in post is processed, it will be merged with the original request and made visible. The character does not essentially need to achieve the full extent of the exact goals listed in the original request, but notable effort must have been put into further developing the character within the scope of the approved request.

Use the following form to post the check-in for your approved request:
Quote:1. Exact name of the character:

2. Link to the check-in notice:

3. Provide links to any post-approval forum roleplay.

4. Provide a cliffnote/summary of the roleplay done related to the goal(s) listed in the original request.

5. Provide information requested in the check-in notice, and any other information you may want to add.

Unique Ship Request Regulations & Form

0. Requests for unique ships require approval of both administrator and development teams. The initial request can be relayed through an official faction to be posted in the following subforum for development team approval using the first template provided below and requires the roleplay to be already in the construction stage, but can be posted before the roleplay is concluded. Once the roleplay is finished, the final request can be posted in this subforum for admin approval using the second template provided below. Once a request receives an initial approval it will be added to the game with the next mod update, and upon admin approval the individual will be provided access to the ship.

1. 10 000 000 credits is the fee for a unique ship application and must be provided during the initial request stage. It will be taken from the character identified and is not refundable, success or fail. If the request receives initial dev team approval but fails to receive admin approval the owning player could try again with a similar concept in 2 weeks but would have to provide the fee again.

2. Requests for unique ships fall under the same conditions as a regular special roleplay request upon approval (e.g. ownership or ship name change would require admin approval), and the owner is required to submit the 1 month and 4 months check-in posts as explained in SRP regulations.

3. The character (not the player) owning the ship must have at least one year of backstory both ingame and on forums. Additionally, the construction of the ship should be roleplayed and documented on forums and needs to involve at least one official faction. Furthermore, background of the ship must fit within the Discovery canon and most not in any way contradict with the established lore.

4. The submitted ship model must be ready for implementation, and should include a functional mesh with proper textures, hitbox and hardpoints as well as infocards and the required .ini adjustments. The model itself cannot be an import and it must meet the quality standards of Discovery mod. Balance of the ship will be decided by the balance team.

5. Unique ships would undergo a monthly activity check after approval, with a set requirement of 6 hours per month. If the owner fails to meet this requirement for two consecutive or three non-consecutive months, the ship will be branded as inactive and removed from the mod.

Use the following form to post the initial request in the following subforum once the roleplay reaches the actual construction stage (posting right in the linked subforum is limited to official faction accounts, and so the applicant must relay their request through an official faction)‌:
Quote:1. Forum name of the owner:

2. Exact name, identification and affiliation of the character:

3. Which official faction(s) are involved in construction of this ship?

4. Provide links to the forum roleplay done so far around this ship.

5. Provide a cliffnote/summary of the roleplay done so far and planned to be done during the construction stage.

6. Provide links to the ship model and other necessary files.

The archive must include the following files:
- .cmp of the ship
- .mat of the ship
- .sur of the ship
- goods.ini entry
- shiparch.ini entry
- Infocards texts in XML formatting

7. If you feel that you would like to provide us with character references, specify whom.

Use the following form to post the final request in this subforum once the roleplay is concluded:
Quote:1. Forum name of the owner:

2. Exact name of the ship:

3. Exact name, identification and affiliation of the character:

4. Which official faction(s) were involved in construction of this ship?

5. Provide links to the forum roleplay centered around construction of this ship.

6. Provide a cliffnote/summary for the links provided above.

7. Provide other links to the forum roleplay relevant to the subject of this request.

8. Provide a cliffnote/summary for the links provided above.

9. How long has this character been building its backstory?

10. If you feel that you would like to provide us with character references, specify whom.

RE: SRP Regulations and Application Form - Implosion - 04-15-2019

Update:

Added 12.1: Players or factions that had their characters stripped of SRP status can apply after three months time.

RE: SRP Regulations and Application Form - aerelm - 06-18-2021

Update:

In cases where the only requested change is removal of the powercore reduction, the request can now be submitted through the Techexempt System instead of a full SRP.
