Liberty Air Force Feedback - LibertyAirForce - 04-02-2012 ![]() [font=Agency FB]L i b e r t y [color=#000000] ∙ A i r ∙ F o r c e [font=Agency FB]Comparatively new to space warfare, the Liberty Air Force excels at surgical strikes against high value targets, courtesy of a strict in-flight Chain of Command. Unable to match the numbers of the Liberty Navy or the forces that oppose them, the LAF focuses on clearly defined flight missions, with the accomplishment of the objective taking priority. The Air Force prides itself on its status as a professional fighting force as do the Officers and Airmen that fly under its banner.
[font=Agency FB]This is the official (because we said so) feedback thread for the Liberty Air Force. We're still developing, so let us know what you think of us, either in-game or out of game. We're all here to have fun (and fly around trying to be Maverick), so if there's somewhere we could improve or if there's any issues you'd like addressed, this is the place to do it. If you're looking for some more information on us, the faction information page is here. [font=Agency FB]Also. Dangerzone. Liberty Air Force Feedback - Hielor - 04-02-2012 "Danger Zone" was featured in the movie Top Gun, which was about Naval aviators. You know, fighter pilots in the Navy, not the Air Force. Just a thought. Liberty Air Force Feedback - LibertyAirForce - 04-02-2012 [font=Agency FB]Very true, but we operate out of Carriers, (it's not quite the full deal, but it's something) and honestly, I'm not entirely convinced there needs to be a reason for Top Gun references. On the upside, we promise to cut the volleyball scenes down to at least one quarter. The Navy and Marines are the only forces that operate off of carriers. If your fighters operate off of carriers, it would make a lot more sense for you to be a wing of the Navy than the Air Force. /beatingadeadhorse Liberty Air Force Feedback - LibertyAirForce - 04-02-2012 [font=Agency FB]Once again, correct. However (Yes, I know putting this hear makes me sound like a twat, so sincere apologies), Freelancer is set far into the future, where the role of the Air Force (at least as we imagine it) has been all but superseded by Naval advancements. Consequently, I don't find the idea of an Air Force, desperate to justify its existence and thus maintain the careers of its staff branching out into fields that may once have been considered Naval territory overly unlikely. If this eventually leads to the creation of some sort of unified force, then so be it, but at present we're trying to role play the Air Force's first tentative steps into space as an organised military force, as heavily dependent on the Navy as it may be. In-RP, we do also operate out of Airfields, with F.O.B Winters, on Leeds being the main one at the moment (Though we also make use of Holloman Airbase on Houston). The Carriers primarily serve as a means of resupplying fighters far afield (much like a modern tanker) and, when the situation is suitably desperate, assisting other military forces in breaking through fortified positions. Particularly as the Air Force as we imagine it doesn't have the manpower for standing engagements, the Carrier also provides us with a means to recall and manage our strike fighters (if/when dockable capital ships come along. For now it's purely in-RP.). Hope this helps somewhat. I know it doesn't quite stand by present-day logic of military forces, but then again, this is spaceboats. Liberty Air Force Feedback - Hielor - 04-02-2012 On to real feedback, now that the ritual beating of the dead horse has concluded :P ' Wrote:[font=Agency FB](Though we also make use of Holloman Airbase on Houston). Why "Holloman"? I know "far future" and all that, but given that we have planets named after modern-day cities, it would make sense to me if features on those planets had similar names to their current counterparts--in the case of Houston, Ellington Field(although I guess they've renamed it to "Ellington International Airport" last year) for the resident Air Force base. Just a thought, as someone who grew up in the area. Liberty Air Force Feedback - Valhalla Sr. - 04-02-2012 I've seen the LAF members in space, and they seem good.. Keep it up! You raise a good point though. Personally, I'm not familiar with U.S Geography in the slightest, being on the other side of the pacific, so I'm a little hazy on that point. I'll update the faction information to reflect the new name, also just because Ellington does sound good. Congratulations, you've just named an airfield. ' Wrote:I've seen the LAF members in space, and they seem good.. Keep it up! [font=Agency FB]Thanks! Good to hear (nice signature, by the way.). Liberty Air Force Feedback - Hell Hunter - 04-03-2012 I saw 1 guy in game and I was like oh my god holy crap he's so AWESOMELY good. You guys are pretty good. (y) good job, keep it up! quite interesting information/goals too. Liberty Air Force Feedback - LibertyAirForce - 04-03-2012 [font=Agency FB]Thanks! It's good to hear good things. I'll be bugging our chat all night to find out who it was now. |
