When both Imphy and 'Jago were away, Jess tried to make conversation with Chase, small talk was not her strong point when she was feeling rather low and out of place, she made sure to keep an eye on Imphy and the comm unit. Trust was something that did not come easily to her now.

When she returned Jess smiled and counted something on her fingers, trying to work out how long it had been since flight school "uh.. a while ago.. " She came to a conclusion "814 it was, for both of us. The year we broke in to the control room, and messed with the gravity control... things." She laughed.

Officer Stevenson placed the donut he was eating back in the box and quickly began scraping his hands along a napkin, trying to remove the sugar from his stubby digits. He wasn't used to socialising in the cafe; nobody recognised him, and he kept mostly to himself.

'Err, yes, that's right.' He replied, fumbling with the napkin as he wiped it across his mouth. The effort put more sugar on his face than he'd removed. 'Officer Steve Stevenson. The sod refused to show his driver's licence and veh-hic-cle registration details, so had to assume it was an illegal veh-hic-cle being driven by an individual without a licence. Glad I managed to stop him, for now anyway. Those damn people driving without their licences'll be the death of us all.'

"Well done!" Commends Jago "A job superbly done." He offers his hand in congratulations, aware of the sugary mess that lay before him.

"I've told a few of my pals about that day, over a few beers." Jago grins "No one believes a traffic cop has the guts!" With that, he orders the barman to promptly put the the courageous officers next meal of soft drink and donuts on his tab, nods in acceptance of the good work that is admired by Jago, and walks out, to a place where he can reflect on the days events.

"I heard about that, but it it was some time before me." Imphy replied."I wished you would have done that when I was there...the theory was as dry as Planet Pttsbugh..." Imphy said and smiled a bit."Well what kind of Ships do you fly,Jess. The light one or higher, heavier ones?" Imphy wanted to know from Jess.Maybe she was a good trainings partner.

"I knew it was a big thing, but I didnt think people would talk about it after we left!" She laughed. "It was the same when we were there, it was awful. Oh, and I fly heavy fighters myself, Wasupu is my favorite." She grinned "It looks awesome with the new lights Ive put on it. What about you? "

"Well I prefere the light ones, especially the Liberator, but I also fly a bit heavier one.Not to forget the Upholder for some extra "Ouch" against all the Gunboats and Gunships out there." Imphy replied and smiled a bit. "We should do some training togehter to see how good we are in our handlings.Maybe the boy want to fly, too,if he isn't too afraid to lose against girls" Imphy said and one eye flickered.

"I'd like that" Jess said with a smile thinking that spending time with people outside of work would probably be good for her. "Oh, 'Jago? I'm sure I can get him to come along. May as well make a day of it" She looked up to see if she could see him, but he was gone. She was not sure as to why, but she hated knowing that he was not around.

"Alright then.Just tell me a time, where it suits you and we could do some Simulations." Imphy said with a smile on her face."Hopefully we won't be called to an Emergency when we train...It usually takes ages some time for me to switch from Simulation to full combat mode.Don't know why" Imphy said and then followed Jess view, when she was looking for Jago

Seymore Justice sat in solitude in a dark corner of Sunbucks Cafe. In his hand, he held a still full cup of devil water, called a Hull Buster. Sometimes you get to enjoy good days, othertimes, you have to endure the bad. He mulled over his drink. Today, well...he was conflicted.

Earlier, while on patrol, he ran across an old friend. Was he still a friend? Aiden Maggard, once a highly decorated Lieutenant in the LPI...now, a defected member of the Xeno Alliance. True, the defection took place months ago, and Seymore always knew that there was a chance he may run across him in space. However, nothing could prepare him for the conflicted thoughts he would have to battle, facing him for the first time as an enemy.

He moved to take a drink, hesitated, and then set the drink back down. Shame...that's what he was feeling. Shame at not having the courage to do his duty and attack his former officer. Shame at sulking away quietly and leaving those 'victims' at the mercy of the Xenos. Well, not exactly victims, he amended. They were Rogues. Who was the enemy anymore, he thought?

The LPI felt so different lately. Rumors spread like a plague. The gossip amongst the officers was filled with ridiculous accusations of the current chief taking part in all night benders with heavy booze and wild women, all paid for by the leaders of the IND. Why else would he be absent for days at a time? Then there were stories of the IND exerting their powerful influence over LPI affairs and disrupting the good relationship they enjoyed with the Bretonia Armed Forces. Added to this, was the ever persistant slander of Liberty Police being corrupt, and on the take, from nefarious criminal entities.

The lines between right and wrong were no longer clear. Seymore started to think of the last days before Maggard's defection. He seemed refreshed. Like he finally had a purpose, a clear focus, something that gave his life real meaning. He envied Maggard for that. Yet still, the Xenos were terrorists. They attacked innocents without mercy. Pirates at least would just demand credits. Pirates didn't want to kill, they just wanted some quick credits to support their cardi addictions and what not. Xenos, on the other hand...

What had drawn Maggard to them? His friend was a sensible person, not some extremist with an agenda. Obviously, there was something about the Xenos that appealed to him. He just couldn't figure out what it could be. Well, he had to figure things out quick. He already ran across Maggard once, chances are, he would do so again. He downed the drink. But, what would he do?

I stumbled through the doors of Sunbucks Cafe, highly inebbrieated from a bottle of rye whiskey dangling in my hand. I must have looked a mess from the stares I received from my fellow officers. I gave myself a once over. Let's see...shirt untucked, tie missing, face unshaven, bad breath, puke stains on my pants from said whiskey, hair flying every which way, shoes untied (at least the one I had on.) Yep, I definitely qualified as a mess.

In the one hand, I held the bottle, but in the other, a signed letter of resignation from the LPI. I staggered from one table to the next trying to find an empty table to polish off my drink. I accidentally sat on a recruit's lap. "Hey", I yelled! "You're not getting no lap dance from me." I felt bile rising up from my stomach, but I quickly swallowed it back down. "At least not till I see some credits." Somehow, I managed to get up and make my way over to an unoccupied chair. I think a couple officers may have helped me.

I slammed the bottle down on the table and yelled to no one in particular, "I'm quitting this outfit. Yes I am. And there's nothing you guys can do about it." Someone put their hand on my shoulder. Quick as a snake, I had my tazer out and attached to the man's throat. "Don't touch me, you crooked cop." The officer lay on the ground wracked in convulsions holding his throat where the tazer bit him.

Immediately, several uniforms converged on me, armed with tazers. I grabbed the tazer from the fallen officer, and with both hands equally armed, I took on the mob. I felt a sharp jolt in my leg and immediately upchucked everything I had onto the offending officer. He fell back, yelling in horror, screaming at the disgust all over him. Another jolt of pain was felt along my arm. God, those tazers hurt like mothers. I reached down to pick up a chair and throw it, when electric current ran down my other arm, and again my leg. I dropped the chair. Another tazer on my chest. I gasped. Down I went, sprawled out on the floor with several of 'Liberty's Finest' each taking their turn at me. I had never been in so much pain. Consciousness was quickly abandoning me. Shouts of rage from my former LPI brothers filled my ears. I must have really pissed them off. I felt myself being picked up and dragged to the doors of Sunbucks Cafe. My back received a sharp kick and I heard someone yell at me to never come back. The doors slammed shut behind me. Well, I thought, that could've gone better.

I spent the next few seconds gasping for breath, trying to stay on top of the pain. From behind the store, a man approached, his face hidden from me by shadows. He picked me up and dusted me off. It was Aiden Maggard. In a quiet voice he said, "Well Seymore, welcome to the Xenos."
