I need help - ProfGiggles - 04-07-2012
Here's the thing.
I've just spent 6 hours trying to improve the explosion effects of all the ships. (especially that caps and transports)
I did that by using Why485's instructions on how to do it. I got them to look really great too, but there is a little problem.
Whenever I try to connect with the server, it goes "omg hax!" and kick me.
I was just thinking:
Do you get any details about what is wrong, when the server kick someone for possible cheating?
Anything you can tell me, that could perhaps help me find a possible bug?
If you can't or won't help it's fine. I'll simply reinstall Freelancer and live with it, but I simply had to grasp after this little straw of hope. I would hate to have to leave this because it doesn't work. I'll attach a video shortly so you can see what I mean.

I've made quite a bit of progress, and I know what is causing the server to kick me. It's so obvious and I should have known this would happen. Oh well.
The thing that is causing the bug, are all the small bolts of fire that gets sprayed over the area when a ship blow up.
Each of those bolts is using a "dummy round". It's an invisible piece of debris with no mass. I've got the model for it on my computer
The server does not have that dummy round in it's wreckage, and since I get something to spawn, that the server doesn't know what is, I get kicked.

Yeah. It seems I got it to work on my own. All I had to do was replace the dummy model with an existing Freelancer one.
