The Order - Xoria - 04-20-2008

I have read over the Black Squadron official faction post, as well as other posts relating to the faction.
I have also observed numerous Order tagged and ID'd characters on the server (both BS| and independent).
If you put a gun to my head and ordered, "Explain the activities of The Order or die", I would have to respond, "Bye Bye cruel world..."
The only activities I've observed are blowing up BHG and Nomad NPCs. I still can't figure out how players of the faction are supposed to roleplay overthrowing the Liberty government if they aren't allowed in Liberty.
So...since The Order doesn't pirate, and they definately do not have a terrorist style ID, and so far as I can tell they are labeled oorp if they come into Liberty, what exactly does an Order character do? (other than spending an insane amount of effort getting that Tag in the first place)
I'd like some general answers, but also about one thing specifically. If The Order is fighting the Nomads, then it makes sense to me that they should be opposed to anyone carrying Nomad technology or biological material. They don't pirate for financial gain, but surely they would demand the confiscation of such items when they find them...or not?

The Order is a paramilitary organisation with the primary goal of the expulsion or elimination of Nomads from Sirius.

Yeah, I started an order char.. but got bored VERY fast with it.

The Order - Magoo! - 04-20-2008

What Preatyre said. They're only at war with Liberty because they tried to come into Minor and take them over.

The Order - Jinx - 04-20-2008

the order is a roleplaying faction. its as much as you make of it.

they are not trying to "overthrow" the liberty goverment. - instead they are keeping a watchful eye on the ongoings in the houses aswell as in the rim. - they are watching and evaluating. - an independent order may not be able to do much about this, as what he is doing won t have a great effect. - but the Bs| for example can do a good bit of RP about the order as a faction.

- there is - spying on whats going on.... like the tensions between rheinland and liberty, which will in turns weaken both and open a door to the nomads.
- the fact that the keepers get to new york through the alaska jumpgate each time they go there, instead of going the only other logcal way, the order would find out why it is that they can take a heavily navy guarded gate.
- the rising numbers of the BHG and their growth of warships ( if its not roleplay, make it roleplay )
- the tentions between bretonia and kusari - is there more about it? - especially with the semi active nomad node in newcastle
- the rheinland ban of all who is not [RM] - fishy much? - no more third party military, less questions, insulated much.
- the war between AW and corsairs weakens the corsairs, who had faced quite some attacked by keepers.

and thats what i think of in only 1 minute .... i think there is PLENTY of roleplay for the order. - but no, its not all about shooting stuff down.

Well, the Asgard Warriors seem to largely be a dissolute group in Sirius and Rheinland enforcing identity theft laws isn't anything out of the ordinary for anyone. Just a small correction.

The Order view the current Liberty government as infested and corrupt and want to remove that infestation. Since they view that infestation as being at the highest levels of Liberty's government, they seek to effectively replace it with non-infested. They do not, as far as we now, have any current affiliation or support with revolutionary groups like the Lane Hackers or Xenos.

I never got bored in my order ship, which I still dont have access to, however the amusement of the Order, least in my view, is to RP Tenabras(My order BS) is my most favorite character to RP with

The Order - Xing - 04-20-2008

well. I personally never made a order character... but for as far as I know, they can easily roleplay out nomad researches and raid over alaska.
after what, it is why I mostly contest their alliance with corsair, otherwise they should - in my opinion - be unfriendly with most crime organisation as they should be interested in saving humanity - and when you want to do that, you usually dont want to instaure some kind of pirate world or drug empire...

1. Any ideas about this :
' Wrote:If The Order is fighting the Nomads, then it makes sense to me that they should be opposed to anyone carrying Nomad technology or biological material. They don't pirate for financial gain, but surely they would demand the confiscation of such items when they find them...or not?
I'm thinking that to The Order, nomad brains and weapons would be signs of infestation and thus a form of "contraband".
Additionally, if they are fighting the Nomads, then they should go where the Nomads are, and since the Keepers' ZOI includes excursions outside of the Omicrons, then The Order should not be disallowed from pursuing...
2. And then there's Das Wilde : actual infestation of humans by Nomads. Wouldn't The Order be supremely concerned with countering this, and attacking Das Wilde where they can be found, meaning the Sigma 13 to New Berlin jump hole, and the two Das Wilde systems?

The Order - Praetyre - 04-20-2008

Order probably doesn't know where Omega 55 and 58 are, and there are logistical problems going across the neutral, militaristic Rheinland territories across light years of space and fighting a virtual war against Liberty in one of the most secret systems in Sirius while also fighting against a force powerful enough to give plenty of trouble to the Kriegsmarine.
