THE CONCOURSE

Background

/indent\In late 819 A.S., a drunk and disorderly group of wealthy freelancers found themselves together at a table in the bar on Barrier Gate. It was at that moment that they spotted two rookie pilots at a nearby table, with wallets empty and glasses dry. In a gesture of inebriated generosity, the freelancers took it upon themselves to order the new guys a free round of drinks. Thereafter they soon became acquainted, exchanging names, stories, and dirty jokes. And then, a toast! They agreed to fly together on a casual basis and to keep the drink flowing and the good times coming, through thick and thin.

/indent\In the following months, the free roaming pilots got together regularly at whatever locale was convenient at the time. Sometimes, one was missing, and sometimes, a few new rookies came along, but the glasses kept clinking and the loose association began to take a cohesive form. Eventually, the pilots decided to declare a more formal, but still fairly loose and raucous association of freelancers with an aim of encouraging new pilots into the far reaches of Sirius.

/indent\And having said that, in the way of simple drunken beginnings, The Concourse was born, with the motto of '€œimbidius wimmemates'€ ... Old Sirius for '€œI drink with my friends'€ and the one truth that each man has a right to his ship.

Recruitment

Any pilot who wants to drink with us must have a good story. So tell us a little bit about yourself, who you are, where you'€™ve been, and what you'€™ve seen. If you are a rookie, who knows... tell us the right joke, and drinks are on us. We might even buy you a Transport.

Would you be willing to buy loot from pirates?

The Concourse - Leo - 05-30-2012

Interesting document and background. I like it. Really emphasizes the fact to have a good story, that's another good thing about you guys. Though, a brief question: What are your guys main goal in Sirius? Just to fly around and explore? Are you guys going to be like a more open faction version of the Angels?

Just wanna know what your long term plans are and if you're mercs or not.

Other than that, seems interesting.

The Concourse - Tailsdoll - 05-30-2012

Well, Leo, the main point we're trying to make is, we want to create a faction that serves both as a stepping stone for people not accustomed to the community and/or are new to the server AND as a way for more experienced pilots to just kick back, relax and enjoy some carefree roleplay and human interaction.

Long-term, we'd like to shoot for officiality (though obviously we'll have to think it through) and for our own little niche in the history of Disco's friendliest factions. We won't be going around shooting people who disagree with us, instead, focusing on keeping a good and friendly atmosphere for all (that's us and everyone else, for reference).

And I do believe that answers your question.

As for your question, Geckon, our logistics department will come back to you on that.

Soon.

Ish.

Looks pretty neato.

The Concourse - Diomedes - 05-30-2012

Colour me interested in this. Might give me FL character a bit more of a purpose than he has now, although I have been luck enough to get some forum RP way back with someone in the Legion.

Question:

Since this is a loose group of FLs, does each pilot tend to have his own diplomacy so long as it doesn't affect that of the group?

The Concourse - Tailsdoll - 05-30-2012

Well, the group has a general diplomatic and mission outline, but obviously each individual player is free to pursue his own personal agenda, as long as it doesn't directly interfere with the group's own standing and/or the group's objectives.

This IS a Freelancer faction, but keep in mind that, inRP, we're all united under one single purpose, so it's natural the characters themselves will have likeminded personalities.

Then again, so long as you don't contribute to anything that might destroy other player's enjoyment, s'all good.

Oh, and for obvious reasons, nothing like Bounty Hunting, pirating or active piracy hunting. Bottom line, we're traders, not vigilantes or security personnel.

The Concourse - ruihu908 - 05-30-2012

Though of course, we do have fighter escort class ships for the pure reasons of escorting. Though if we can, we'll usually talk our way out of nasty situations, or escape 'em.
