Base siege or not, that's way too much overkill for two cruisers. I'm ashamed to see the SCRA partake in such actions as well when I know they're to be held to a higher level of standards especially since it was a Civillian target.

I've explained a million times that base sieges never float everyone's boat in terms of the pvp prior. They had to have known they were getting in hot water when they came to fight. It's not like I fly my snub into a crowd of Rheinland lawful wraiths expecting them all to sit out while I kill them "fairly" one by one. That's ridiculous.

Yes, it's where I live, it really is "dank".

I like the norse theme, it's still mixed with regular Rheinlandic stuff and Rheinland was a Germany/Norse mix in Vanilla already if you remember battleships like Aesir etc. Smile

RE: Red Hessian Army feedback - Sombs - 10-08-2017

I know the Hessian lore, and the vanilla assets. I was just wondering why the trend was moving away from Hesse. Like, not that it's bad or something. It's a very Discovery thing, though, as vanilla didn't have Hessian ships, I believe they used Borderworld shipline. So the question was more why Discovery gave the ships norse nomenclature (although I can imagine it is simply because, well, it's the only cool mythology related to Europe, while Malta and Crete are closer to italy, which would have made it more fitting for them to have the greek/roman mythology? Ergh!)

RE: Red Hessian Army feedback - Char Aznable - 10-08-2017

It's mainly popular culture influencing the naming scheme. For instance, Discovery is still really bad with naming the shipclasses it generates, especially when it comes to Rheinland. The Battleship is called Bismarck, the Battlecruiser is the Tirpitz. Even worse, the name for Rheinland's Flak-Gun is, I shit you not, Acht-Acht (88), referring to the legendary Flak/Pak/Kwk 43 in WWII. I mean seriously? Bismarck and Tirpitz I understand, but 88? Are you trying to tell me that the Rheinlanders couldn't come up with a better name for their Flak Gun than the name of a gun that was used in a war that is probably forgotten by now, over a milennium back, 800 LY away? Everything needs to be stereotypically german, and the fascination the Nazis had with norse mythology has certainly played a role in identifying 'german/rheinlandic' with norse mythology.

Now that's not necessarily a bad thing. After all, Vanilla didn't do much to prevent stereotypes (Luger for Bundschuh guns. My arse.), but it would still be nice to see a bit of reminiscing.

Also Wesker... BaWü is not in Hessen.

Yes Fran and who looks at the wiki these days.

Then post a link in bold and italics in the faction info to that page, rather than reinventing RHA lore because you are on egotrip.

RE: Red Hessian Army feedback - Wesker - 10-08-2017

Ill blend this with the new one.
