10/06/819 - New London system - As the Minstry of Defense officialized the nomination of Michelle Garibaldi as the new Fleet Admiral and supreme commander of the Armed Forces four days ago, the spokeman of the admiralty confirmed that a parade at planet New London next week is currently under work in honor of the new BAF point woman : "people know her name, yet fewer people know her records. It is now time for everyone to meet the person" says Harold Stoltz, attached to the Duke of Norfolk's office, who added later that "Garibaldi certainly is steel minded and gifted with unyielding tenacity, yet I am sure that the attending staff will realize how loveable and inspiring she can be".



While not objecting to her appointment, a few voices raised protest against the parade itself. "An event of this size will bring nothing more than heavy traffic disruption and block the civilian public transport of the capital for hours", reports the spokeman of the Populist Freedom party. The Bowex Fringe - holding a minor share of the seats in the House of Commons - brought an unexpected support to this, adding that "the natural consequence of this will be a diversion of the Cambridge Highway. It will make of Kensington station a mandatory step for shippers from and headed to the Omega systems", says senior employee Duncan Moreland. Gateway Shipping issued no comment, but the BPA office confirmed that "the induced extra traffic, combined to the natural flow coming from the Manchester gate, sets the conditions for a memorable traffic jam". This certainly won't please holidaymakers, who already know how infamous the Manchester gate can be these times of the year.

More concerned comments came from the Leeds Worker party : "Aren't the militaries officers supposed to watch our lines in Leeds and Newcastle ? What will be the price, in terms of bombing and taxpayer money, of this frivolous party ?" says Anton Parker, from BMM Trade Union. However not all share those worries : "Dat's an awsum idea if yae ask mae. And yae know, nawadays da bret folks need to spend more toime tagether instaed o' gettin loose far from home, sure it'd better for ev'ryone !" says a bystander, who whished to remain anonymous. Still, as an answer to the civilan concerns, commodore Sir Martin Bridge stated tomorrow that "all arrangements were made to maintain a strong line on the northern front. Furthermore battleships Derby and MacDuffs will exceptionally maintain a higher alert level during the critical few hours. Any ennemy move, if any, will hardly go uncontested." However he cut short the interview when questions were raised regarding the origin of the wings to attend the parade. "Classified. Good evening ladies and gentlemen."

The parade will take place at Planet New London next week, sunday the 24th around 20.00 SMT, despite several warnings from the Cambridge Space Survey, who detected energy waves emitted by the supernova SN-760-15c that exploded 60 years ago. Let us hope that the spike of elecromagnetic waves will not add to the already electric atmosphere in New London.
