Hello
I've encountered this problem since I've bought my 23 inch 1080p monitor. Whenever I try to change resolution on games or using settings in control panel from 1080p to for example 1366x768 my view shrinks from the top and bottom. For example on 1280x768 my screen looks like 16:9 movie on 4:3 TV screen, with black stripes on top and botom of the screen. Same goes for Freelancer. I can't play on the highest resolution because when my ship gets in flames I get slight FPS drops which however doesn't let me fight as good as without them. Also I have like 30 FPS when recording on such resolution(Fraps set on half size and 60FPS). Any ways to fix the shrunken view?
PS. I'm using AMD card and Win7.

Check through all of the monitor's settings--there might be something about lower-resolution scaling in there.

There are no settings to stretch the view nor any scaling in the monitor's settings menu.

Go to your graphics card control panel. There should be a few options for scaling in there.

There are screen position options but not for stretching the screen.
