pls, buff Mission NPC fighters? - Hidamari - 06-22-2012 (this is not a post about making repping a character harder to do. please pay attention.....) all missions give you the same amount of reputation regardless of difficulty, and character repping is always done with the lower end missions with the mk1 npc fighters so it can be over faster and people can get on with their lives. in this post I am refering to the high paying fighter missions at the 200k - 250k band that are supposed to be hard for fighters but.. currently aren't --------------- Occasionally I find that I like to mission gind with my music really loud just to hear lots of explosions and lasers flying all over the place. but.. the NPC's arent hard enough. If we could leave the lower level mission npc's as they are (ranges from 10k to 80k) so that getting guard rep isnt any more arduous than it is to get now, but buff all the 200k - 250k mission npcs so that like the cap missions, you are actually in for a decent fight with a unknown outcome! you might lose! :o High level npcs already have a better shield than players can have, (or at least npc titans do) that has 14,000 max capacity. but im talking about giving them a human player loadout. as well as this shield (using titans for example) 2x Colada Del Cid 4x Salamanca Mk II (even some with code names) 1x Tizona Del Cid turret Armour 8 Cheetah thruster (so it doesnt just get blown off after 2 seconds, hell even give them a cap thruster) Nuclear/Screamer or at least Ripper mine dropper mini-razor/Sunslayer/starkiller/inferno, but that might be a bit too far with their infinite power core, still it would be a great challenge since some mission, (Like the new molly cruiser missions) are freaking super hard, because they just rape your underpants off infinate cerbs/ primaries/pulses and battlerazors flying at you constantly its really challenging. When I first did one I got bent over and shafted big time. but when I changed tactics, I managed to do it (with half a block of health left on my cap 7 bret BS and no bats or bots left) there is a nice sense of accomplishment and you make a little money from it too. but i think this challenge should be reflected in fighter mission combat also, not just cap missions. Fighters could have codenames relavent to their regions too, (just an idea) so 250k gallic mission NPC fighters would have teched up Lynx's with Excals or Claymore. rheinland ones with Solaris or Heimdals, bretonian ones with Medusa, Corsair ones with thors hammers, etc etc.. not like EVERY npc on the mission, but certain squads of spawning npcs have these platinum loadouts summary General High level mission fighter npc's given maximum tech and half their max bots and bats. It's really difficult because it's hard to tell what kind of enemies you're going to face, and I doubt buffing them would be particularly pleasant.</strike> Oh wait, you're just talking about fighters. Ok. Just as long as they don't turn like LFs, it could be reasonable. Edit: Bear in mind that all Gallic missions are hard regardless of their profit or rep buff. Edit 2: Challenge is fine. A tough "elite" npc fighter is fine - just as long as it's alone! It's the swarms of them which really hurt. pls, buff Mission NPC fighters? - Ursus - 06-22-2012 I dont see any reason to pee on everybody else's repping just because you can't be bothered to go to a guard system. Go at low player times and you'll get everything from fighters to freighters and gunboats shooting at you, and they'll use CDs too. People might have to use bots and bats maybe if they get buffed :O I've Voted Yes Dii; but I must be a terrible pilot as I got my butt kicked the other day when I took a Corsair mission of about 120k (level 18 or something like that).
