Discovery Freelancer Xfire support - nxp1111 - 06-22-2012

i can't get xfire to recognise discovery now that you have discovery as a stand alone mod
i have tried to change the directory from

[4240]
LongName=Freelancer
ShortName=frlncr
LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\1.0\AppPath {C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer}
LauncherExe=exe\Freelancer.EXE
LauncherNetworkArgs=-s%UA_GAME_HOST_NAME%:%UA_GAME_HOST_PORT%
Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
ServerStatusType=FL
InGameRenderer=D3D8
InGameFlags=ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE

to

[4240]
LongName=Freelancer
ShortName=frlncr
LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\1.0\AppPath {C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Discovery Freelancer 4.86.0}
LauncherExe=exe\Freelancer.EXE
LauncherNetworkArgs=-s%UA_GAME_HOST_NAME%:%UA_GAME_HOST_PORT%
Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
ServerStatusType=FL
InGameRenderer=D3D8
InGameFlags=ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE

but xfire won't recognise it ass freelancer if i try to manual find the exe it won't see discovery's freelancer.exe as freelancers freelancer.exe

any suggestions on what to do?

I had the same problem.

You need to set the folder to the folder that contains the Freelancer.exe, but don't give it the Freelancer.exe file itself. Also be sure to take the one that contains the disco mod, not the orriginal.

I also had some performance issues with Xfire, which were fixed by assigning the Freelancer task to another CPU than CPU 0 with the task manager after I started it.
