Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 06-28-2012 Life has always been remarkably easy for Hideaki.
The only son of his proud father Toru Ishikawa, he never had to worry about anything. Being involved in the optronics business on Honshu the Ishikawa family would be considered quite wealthy by the average Kusarian. Wealthy enough to have a country house on the shores of Honshu's vast ocean at least. He would spend his childhood in solitude for the most part, being taught at home and rarely finding an excuse to visit the city. If he wasn't studying, or sitting in his father's study to watch him talk to important business partners, one would find him in the yard. Lying in the short grass he would spend hours looking at the sky and watching the passing spaceships in the distance with awe until his mother would come at nightfall and take him back inside again. The house Ishikawa always took great pride in honoring the traditions of Kusari and so Hideaki too was raised in that spirit. Between weekly Kendo lessons he was expected to educate himself by studying the various works collected in his father's library. He would take great interest in these subjects and was an eager student. Surprisingly though, he had trouble when it came to learning about traditional kusarian religion and would find it hard to accept these teachings. As an obedient son however, he would not want to disappoint his father and kept quiet about his concerns, showing the same determination as in his other subjects. At the age of eleven Hideaki would go into space for the first time in his life. His father had business to do on New Tokyo and decided to bring his son along, for he knew he couldn't keep Hideaki isolated forever. And it was time for him to see something from the universe, to prepare him for the role he was supposed to take on when his father retires. ~ "Outosan, can we go to the cockpit?" The child was nearly pressing his face against the small window to get a better view of the space outside. "Iie. You should know better than to ask such a question. The pilot surely doesn't need a nosy child in his cockpit." The little boy turned his head and looked at his father, who was reading through some business documents, wearing the same serious expression on his face as always. It was one of the few things little Hideaki thought to be unchangable. "Hai, outosan." He turned his head back to the window again and spent the whole trip gazing at the stars, deciding that he would spend his future among them. Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 06-29-2012
"Empty-handed I entered the world
Barefoot I leave it. My coming, my going -- Two simple happenings That got entangled." -Kozan Ichikyo
The rain was pouring down on Honshu. 12 years old now, Hideaki was currently occupied with ancient poetry. Staring at the page infront of him, he tried to make some sense out of these words written more than a millenium ago. His father directed him to this particular poem, as a response to the death of his grandmother. And now Hideaki was trying to find out how this should help him. Staring at his palms he mused about the first verse. Obachan's hands had been so different from his.... Full of wrinkles, whereas his where still untouched by time. He sighed quietly and put the page away, walking over to the large window of his room. He sat down infront of it and stared out into the rain, not sure what he was supposed to feel. And as the thick drops ran down the window it occured to him that human life was just like these drops. Falling into life per chance, it would go slowly at first, making the first few inches. And the further it went, the faster it would go, merging with other drops, picking up experiences until it finally would reach the end .. and vanish. Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 07-07-2012 Doing business in Kusari can be quite tricky at times.
Toru Ishikawa however was a master in the fine art of using the current situation of the economy to his own advantage and striking the most profitable deals. Something he dearly wanted to pass on to his son. And so Hideaki was attending yet another one of his father's business meetings. Sitting seiza at the small table in his father's study, he observed the two elder men having tea. Curiously, they didn't get to the point of the deal for a very long time. The entire conversation consisted mostly of unimportant small talk. After a while, the guest turned his head to Hideaki. "I see your son is slowly approaching adulthood, Toru-san." He said and turned back to Hideaki's father. "He will make you proud one day." His father gave a short bow and spoke. "Thank you for your kind words. He shall be my heir and my greatest pride one day." After catching the serious gaze of his father, Hideaki quickly followed his exampled and bowed. "Arigatou gozaimasu. I feel honoured by your words." The guest nodded and smiled. Staying silent, he had a sip of his tea before returning his gaze at Toru. Still the faint smile on his lips he spoke calmly. "Very well, Toru-san. I accept your proposal." He put his cup down again. "In two weeks then." Having said that he smiled at Hideaki again and got up. "Sayonara then." Toru Ishikawa stood up as well and bowed. "Sayonara, Ozawa-san." Hideaki followed his example and did the same. And with quiet steps their guest left. After a short silence, Hideaki turned to his father and asked. "Gomenasai, outosan, but what was this about?" "It means that you will leave in two weeks obviously." Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 07-17-2012 Looking back, I probably didn't hate my father. I just didn't understand his reasons.
I still remember the time when we wouldn't say a word to each other. All he ever wanted was what he perceived as the best. Not necessarily for me or him, but for the family. I learned to understand his reasons later on, but after all those years I still don't agree with them. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had complied with his wishes. Not that it matters anymore. But well, I guess it all turned out well in the end. -Ishikawa Hideaki about his father Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 07-22-2012 At this point, childhood was over for Hideaki. He became Ozawa's personal assistant.
The boy thought that he was more of a slave though. However, he was rather incorporated into the Ozawa family's life. He had his own small room in their house and was eating and having tea with the family. The job was tough, and between that and sleeping he didn't have much time for himself. And the worst of all, he had to endure it for a full year. His father knew that keeping the boy at home all the time wouldn't do him any good, so he thought that working in another family's household would teach him a few valuable lessons. And it sure did. One of the first things he learned was that business life is not for him. He accompanied Ozawa to all of his meetings and found them annoyingly boring. Being degraded to the simple errand boy didn't help either. But at least that taught him another thing. Modesty. He was not the beloved son and heir anymore. Maybe he was treated with a bit more respect than the average employee, but not by much. Maybe this whole thing had the effect his father had intended, but it also changed Hideaki in a few more ways. -=- "Well, from now on I won't let him decide over my fate anymore. This has been enough. I'm old enough to decide for myself anyway." "And you're absolutely sure about that? He's your father after all." The two young men were out in the garden of the Ozawas. Hideaki and the eldest son of Kenji Ozawa, Takashi, became rather good friends over the course of that year. And so, as the time for departure came close, Hideaki laid out his plans to Takashi for when he eventually came back to his family. "So what? All he cares about is my usefulness for him. I'm sick of that." The other boy sighed. "Well, you surely seem determined about this. Consider though, you might lose your inheritance." "pfft. He wouldn't dare." Hideaki turned his face up to the sky. "From now on, I'll decide what I will do with my life." "If you say so.." "And I'll be up there. In space." Ishikawa Hideaki - Yaoquizque - 09-04-2012 ++ Interlude : Present days ++
Four before noon. A man was peacefully sleeping in his bed. If an observer was there to take a peek at the half smile on his face, would he thus be able to tell what were his dreams about? Was he contemplating the waves of Honshu's ocean? Or perhaps the young man was fighting in Kayo's cloud? But... Was he even dreaming? What if he was just enjoying that serenity preceding sunrise? No matter what, it was about to end in a horrible and unbearable way, however... ![]() Since a few minutes indeed, some noise could be heard in the apartment. Yet, more was needed to trouble our noble hero's sleep. He didn't deign noticing the running noises, nor did he mind the calls that soon followed. Even when the creature jumped on the bed to silently walk towards him, the man didn't move. The horrible creature stopped near his face, seemingly busy contemplating him with severity. Finally, a paw approached his face and tapped on his nose several times, making him nod in his sleep to get away. "Meow" said the cat, noticing it wasn't quite effective. He sat near the man's face, purring while looking around. How evil he was! His tail was waving around, tickling the poor man's face. Eventually, the latter sneezed and, after finally noticing the cat, fell his head back on the pillow, rubbing his palm on his face. "Ow.... Stupid cat." said the man, in a sleepy voice. "Meow" replied the cat, gazing at him with severity once again. ![]() Well... Now he was awaken, it was time to get down to business. "I'm hungry." was he saying. But that stupid human didn't understand. He wasn't even leaving the bed. Trying to ignore him? Wasn't going to work, food dispenser! Using a trick that was remarkably effective, he used his paw to tap ceaselessly on the man's skin. And if the message wasn't coming through... Well... It was time to subtly make the claws come out. Eventually he gave up and got up to feed him. Mission accomplished. Once his stomach was filled, he came back to the bed and rolled into a ball right near the man, who sighed after caressing him a couple of times. "Yes yes... I hate you too." He answered with a soundful purr while rolling on himself. Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 09-14-2012 The bright city lights illuminated the streets. Honshu downtown was even busier than normal that night, the streets were cramped and the youth was filling the bars and discos.
Alcohol, drugs and women. Hideaki smirked as he strolled along the boulevard housing the most popular night clubs. He always enjoyed nights like these. Passing the clubs he heard the music coming from inside, saw a few adolescents arguing on the streets and the hefty brawl following afterwards. Didn't bother him. These things were common with those kids when the alcohol got the better of them for the first time. He had had his share of that. Honshu city never disappointed and Hideaki spent as many nights as he could out there, which meant nearly every night. Sleep could always be found in the lecture rooms, even thoug he was meant to graduate the week after. A big smile on his face Hideaki entered one of the clubs and mingled with the masses. -:-
The air was thick with smoke and the booming music could be heard from below. The sound of rolling dice filled the room for a moment until they came resting in the small bowl. "Chō! I win again!" Hideaki sighed as he parted with some of his, well, not exactly hard earned money. "I'm starting to think you're cheating, Yasuo." He filled his cup with sake again. "These are your dices after all." "Pah. Calling me cheater, you should watch what you're saying!" The other young man sitting opposite of Hideaki grinned. "Besides, my place, my dices." "Just because your old man owns this club it doesn't mean you have to rob your best friends, eh?" He emptied his cup of sake and let himself fall back into the cushions. "Enough with the gambling for now. I don't wanna go home broke." He lit himself a cigarette and had to smile as he looked over to the other side of the room. "Heh. Look at that, Koichi is already out cold." The massive man was lying on the couch face down, the cushions already wet from his saliva. Yasuo started to giggle with his high pitched voice. "Oh man, you'd think a guy with his body could take a lot more." Hideaki got up and walked over to the motionless Koichi. "What did he have anyway? Man, you don't think it's an overdose, do you?" "He'll be fine, don't worry." Hideaki looked down on the sleeping man. "Oi! Koichi! Wake up you lazy bastard!" As this didn't seem to help, Hideaki gave him a slap in the face for good measure. Suddenly Koichi's arm snapped forward, grabbed Hideaki's foot and made him fall on the floor face first. Koicho sat up, rubbing his temples. "Do that again and I break your neck, idiot." Hideaki slowly got up again and frowned while Yasuo was in stiches. "Damnit big man, was that really necessary!?" "You were begging for it, fool." "Hey, Hideaki, great show. That was hilarious!" "Oh shut up.." The door opened and the fourth member of the little group stepped in. The girl looked at the scene and raised an eyebrow. "I missed something?" Hideaki spoke quickly before anybody could say a thing. "Nothing. Really, nothing." He walked over to where he had left his cup and got himself another fill. "Where have you been that long anyway?" The girl moved over to the table to get herself a cigarette before sitting down beside Koichi. "I swear, isn't a girl allowed to go to the fracking restroom anymore?" "Oh calm down sweet little Mariko-chan." Unimpressed she lit her cigarette. "You call me that again and I have Koichi here break your neck." The large man just nodded agreeingly while Yasuo couldn't help but to snigger happily. Hideaki leaned back on the couch and sighed. "You guys..." "What are we doing tonight anyway?" RE: Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 10-03-2012 He awoke in a clean hospital room. Feeling incredibly weak he just managed to turn his head and look around the room.
The other beds were empty and unused. He was alone in the room. His head sunk back into the sheets and he stared up to the ceiling. He had no memory of how he got there. His head was clouded and concentrating impossible. The drugs probably hadn't worn off yet. He fell asleep once more. An hour later he opened his eyes again. This time he immediately realised why he was in the hospital. His memory of that night was still fogged but he remembered the crash now. A nurse entered the room to check his condition. A few quick questions and hesitant answers. He had been unconscious for three days. He had been quite lucky. Others hadn't. He was left alone again. It was his fault. Without doubt. And there's nothing he could do about it. He still couldn't quite believe it. Why had he been that stupid? So full of himself? Some time later Mariko entered the room. She walked over to his bed and looked at him with no emotion showing on her face. He smiled and looked up to her. "Mariko.. I'm glad you're alive." She didn't answer and moved to the single window of the room. She looked outside for a while before talking. "I won't forgive you for this one." Her voice was cold and distant. "You killed them. You knew you were in no condition to fly." Unable to say anything he just watched her standing at the window. "But don't worry, your father fixed everything for you." She said full of disdain. "You won't have to fear any consequences. As always." She turned away from the window and started walking towards the door. "I suppose we won't see each other again." "Wait! It's my fault, yes, I know that as well." He quickly said. "There's really nothing left to say." She left the room and closed the door behind her. "I'm sorry." He said to the empty room. RE: Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 01-11-2013 Present Day. He found himself in a hospital room again. The monotonous humming of the machines, the slow dripping of the various fluids running through the tubes connect to the patients body. Yet this time, it was someone else in the plain white bed. The last days had all followed the same routine. After he came home from work he immediately went to the hospital. And there he waited. Waited for something to happen. Waited for her to come back. She seemed peaceful and calm under the white covers. Far too calm and peaceful he thought. Watching her sleep he dwelled on his memories with her. He wondered again why it had to be her of all people. But he knew that sooner or later something like this was bound to happen though. Pilots live dangerously. Just as easily it could be him in that bed. And somehow he would prefer that. Hours passed and the waiting made him tired. He decided to get some rest before his next shift started. As goodbye he took her hand and held it softly. "See you tomorrow." RE: Ishikawa Hideaki - Stuffz - 02-12-2013 Java. A place for miners and shady people. A place Hideaki wasn't really fond of. But he wouldn't be here for long anyway. And coming here meant that things are finally going to get interesting. The ship he was going to use had already been placed on the station. After a first look he decided that it would do just fine. Now the question was when the target would be in range. And of course there was the question of how, or even IF he would get to safety afterwards. Chances were good that they just wouldn't let him leave. He would be chased without remorse. But that was all in the future. It was important to complete his objective and that's all he should think about. Somehow, he was afraid though. It would be an inconvenient time to die. There was a reason to come back alive and he thought about that reason a lot. But it couldn't be helped, this task was his and he was going to complete it, no matter what. That said, a visit to the bar couldn't do any damage.. |
