To: Kaishō Takahashi - NewOrder - 06-29-2012 Comm ID: Kempeitai Central Command Transmit to: Bakuryō-chō taru Kaishō Takahashi Transmission time start: Konnichiwa. I believe it is time to reveal what has actually been going on, honorable Takahashi-sama. End of Transmission. To: Kaishō Takahashi - Bakamono - 06-30-2012 Konnichiwa Kempeitai-shi. Hai, the truth of things is obscure at best. I have many questions: Can you tell me what happened to Omen Deng? Are the remnants of the Dragons tooth involved in this? Why did agents make their intent so visible? Is there a faction that want war with Liberty?
Obviously you know who I am, what I do, and what my agenda is. But who are you?[color=#FFFFFF]Bakuryō-chō taru Kaishō & Chief of Staff Takahashi, Kusari Naval Forces. To: Kaishō Takahashi - NewOrder - 06-30-2012 Comm ID: Kempeitai Central Command Transmit to: Bakuryō-chō taru Kaishō Takahashi Transmission time start: Alright. Your questions. "Can you tell me what happened to Omen Deng?" As you know very well know, many Kempeitai agents and even entire cells lost their links to the chain of command. No one has heard from Omen Deng in several months. "Are the remnants of the Dragons tooth involved in this?" Rest assured it is not the Dragons Tooth that have been involved in these operations. "Why did agents make their intent so visible? Is there a faction that want war with Liberty?" *The shadowy figure draws in a deep breath, before sighing and shaking his head* What if I told you the only way to prevent a war was to almost cause one? No one, at least those that are in direct contact with myself, is itching for a war with the Libertonians. You may be asking why a Destroyer element as well as another...unidentified ship with a cloaking device... managed to pull off such a clean escape and destruction. The Liberty Navy has been involved in some very strange experiments lately, as you know, we do not "openly" have kempeitai agents in Liberty space. That would be rather silly. This was one rare exception due to the sensitive nature of what we needed to test. Rest-assured, we got what we were looking for. I'll be sending a secure packet to you soon. "Who are you?" This question is more complicated than you think. For now, Takahashi-sama, it would be most prudent if my name remain anonymous for the time being. It will come out in time, but it is not the correct time. On another note. You know there are many, now rogue, kempeitai agents, cells, and entire groups that still have ties and loyalties to the Emperor instead of the Republic. Sometimes the only way to bait out the snakes is to put a fat mouse in front of its hole. No amount of begging will get them to come from their cover, only a delicious snack. Think about that, sometimes the Kempeitai doesn't act within the confines of the Defense Minister... while we hope to change this, know that we are working for Kusari. Whether some of our actions are more drastic-looking, they are well-measured on our end. Both the risk and the rewards. End of Transmission. To: Kaishō Takahashi - Bakamono - 07-01-2012 Kempeitai-Shi, arigatou for your reply. Quote:No one, at least those that are in direct contact with myself, is itching for a war with the Libertonians. I am glad to hear that your men do not want war, however I do not see how provocation averts any disaster. Quote:You may be asking why a Destroyer element as well as another...unidentified ship with a cloaking device... managed to pull off such a clean escape and destruction. Our ships are agile, and cloaks increase their chances of escape, I am not surprised at the effectiveness of any strikes: I am surprised that an assassination was attempted in front of witnesses, that one was attempted at all, and that the agents in question would endanger us all with political disaster.
Any mission of such importance and impact would be government sanctioned, and should not be undertaken under private initiative. Any data you see fit to send would do little to justify such an action or the associated exposure. Quote:The Liberty Navy has been involved in some very strange experiments lately, as you know, we do not "openly" have kempeitai agents in Liberty space. I understand that Liberty experiments would be interesting to you: they did pioneer ground-breaking technologies. Of course I cannot support any action involving Liberty forces, without their knowledge and approval. I have had to share information with Liberty Navy in regard to this situation in an effort toward damage control. Their security forces are operating at a heightened state of alert, they will be looking for anything out of place, and verifying that which seems benign. I would rather not have given Tenshis name nor divulge information on possible incursions, but the blatant act and persistence to continue foreign ops has forced my hand.
As you know any intelligence is subject to counter-intelligence, so I urge you to scale back any probative operations ' which may well be designed to draw you out into the light. Relations are just too delicate to justify the risk at this time. Quote:Sometimes the only way to bait out the snakes is to put a fat mouse in front of its hole. I had feared that intelligence games and machinations were at the root of this. I understand that you are satisfied that the risk was worth whatever you discovered. I cannot hold to that: in my experience, the cost always exceeds the reward. 'Reliable Intelligence' just had me send hundreds of men and women to their deaths. Families bury empty caskets, grieving for their lost, and I cannot even tell them how they died. I fear that submergence in the world of intelligence leaves some disconnected from the brutal consequences they set into motion. Quote:...sometimes the Kempeitai doesn't act within the confines of the Defense Minister... while we hope to change this,... Division and autonomy are luxuries we cannot afford right now. Failure to correspond with the Ministry has your wing listed as a security liability. Come home and report in and perhaps they will be lenient. May the shadows shroud you well, [color=#FFFFFF]Bakuryō-chō taru Kaishō Takahashi, Kusari Naval Forces. To: Kaishō Takahashi - NewOrder - 07-01-2012 Comm ID: Kempeitai Central Command Transmit to: Bakuryō-chō taru Kaishō Takahashi Transmission time start: "I would rather not have given Tenshis name nor divulge information on possible incursions, but the blatant act and persistence to continue foreign ops has forced my hand." I believe you are mistaking my command with another rogue cell, if I may point out, the strike ordered by my hand was one and only one. While we still have a few covert agents still in Liberty space, none of them are "blatantly acting and persisting in foreign ops". At least any that would be readily discovered by the Libertonians. You know that brutal consequences will always follow us wherever we go, Takahashi-san. And my wing listed as a security threat is disheartening to say the least, luckily there is no real way to track who is part of my wing. Both the markings and the identifications on the aforementioned ships have all been replaced and changed enough that they can easily blend into their old surroundings. Again, we're not here to harm Kusari. You wonder "how provocation averts any disaster." This is where the complicated answer comes in, one we cannot yet divulge. To be frank, it is a security risk to Kusari if we were to yet show you who we actually are. "Come home and perhaps they will be lenient." We have committed no crime, you know the allowances for operatives on classified foreign intelligence missions. While they are not above the law, they certainly have more to worry about than the 'consequences' back home should their mission not go exactly as planned. I fear you only want to make an example of an entire crew as well as her captain, and that you want to give this over to the Libertonians as evidence that you are cooperating and that you hold no ill-will towards them. Know this, we are not the scapegoats to be thrown into the fire when something goes wrong. We stand by the actions of both the Destroyer as well as the other vessels currently in Liberty operations. "Any data you see fit to send would do little to justify such an action or the associated exposure. " This line is what struck me perhaps the most. You see us and what we did as worthless, essentially calling us a rogue element. What reason do they have to come back to Kusari? You say it is home, yet their own home wishes to lynch them and throw their bodies out an airlock in the direction of the Liberty border hoping that they don't invade us with their Dreadnoughts and swarms of fighters and bombers. Once this whole situation has settled down they will make their way back into Kusari space. Once the security isn't at a heightened level they will return to Kusari, though it saddens me to see that none of them will be able to return to their prior lives. *The man is seen rubbing his forehead, slightly agitated, before the video feed cuts out* End of Transmission. To: Kaishō Takahashi - Bakamono - 07-02-2012 Konnichiwa once again shadowy man, I fear you have misunderstood me, as I may have you. My personal opinion is irrelevant, I merely state the simple truth before me. Quote:none of them are "blatantly acting and persisting in foreign ops". I did not say "blatantly acting and persisting in foreign ops". My words were 'but the blatant act and persistence to continue foreign ops' by 'the blatant act' I mean the singular strike you mentioned, the source of all this trouble. Do not underestimate Liberty forces, they are clever and able. Quote:And my wing listed as a security threat is disheartening to say the least, The government have Kitsune listed as a security liability, this is because they are an uncontrollable party who have caused diplomatic incident.
Quote:This is where the complicated answer comes in, one we cannot yet divulge. The lack of any actual information to help justify the incident does not encourage trust from any government body. It further separates us, making your wing appear uncooperative. Quote:We have committed no crime, Assassination is a crime, as is attempted murder, in any house. Militarised attacks by foreign vessels is also a crime. Assassinating one of our own just makes it more offensive to those in power.
Quote:I fear you only want to make an example of an entire crew as well as her captain, and that you want to give this over to the Libertonians as evidence that you are cooperating and that you hold no ill-will towards them. I do not want to make an example of your crew, anyone to undertake such an operation would be treated the same, if not worse. I hold no personal grudge against kempeitai: this matter is a disturbing distraction to me in a world of things and threats that should not be.
You are correct to assume that I want to appear co-operative with Liberty, and Hai, I hold no ill-will toward them ' they are not the enemy. There is a danger to us because Liberty associate your actions with our Houses intentions, which is why the House has had to distance itself from you. Quote:You see us and what we did as worthless, essentially calling us a rogue element. I did not say what you did was worthless. I was trying to convey that the government will not simply 'wipe the slate clean' for good intelligence. Even victory does not wash the blood from our hands.
You are a rogue element by definition: performing high profile assassinations independent of the Ministry of Defence in foreign territory. This is not meant as an insult, it is merely a fact.Quote:Know this, we are not the scapegoats to be thrown into the fire when something goes wrong. You are not being made into 'scapegoats' : were I inclined to misdirect; I would have reported that any agents were actually another nations operatives using stolen or recovered technology. I have no desire to make things more difficult for you ' that is just another unfortunate complication. In a firefight, every man knows to keep his distance from his brother with the flamethrower, because we all know they attract fire and may explode. His brothers do not bear him ill-will, they simply want to survive.
Quote:What reason do they have to come back to Kusari? You say it is home, yet their own home wishes to lynch them and throw their bodies out an airlock in the direction of the Liberty border hoping that they don't invade us with their Dreadnoughts and swarms of fighters and bombers. This is exactly why you initiate a dialogue with the government. I doubt they would be so visceral, and am sure they would negotiate a suitable compromise. They are adept at such things. I will make this as plain as I can. To me ' you are simply a KPT cell that has not come in. My hatred is reserved for Noburu, aliens and the like.
Quote:Once this whole situation has settled down they will make their way back into Kusari space. Once the security isn't at a heightened level they will return to Kusari, though it saddens me to see that none of them will be able to return to their prior lives. The same can be said of anyone in service, we all sacrifice our lives for Kusari and its people. Given the choice, I am sure many would prefer a peaceful married life with a hundred fat children, but they are needed and cannot ignore the call. I am glad you will return to Kusari - it is here where you are needed. May your spirit remain strong, [color=#FFFFFF]Bakuryō-chō taru Kaishō and Chief of Staff Takahashi, Kusari Naval Forces. To: Kaishō Takahashi - NewOrder - 07-03-2012 Comm ID: Kempeitai Central Command Transmit to: Bakuryō-chō taru Kaishō Takahashi Transmission time start: I have meditated on your words. They are wise, and speak of experience far beyond your age. I have ordered the wing in question to return to Kusari and to come before the Naval Forces, and more specifically, those under your direct command Takahashi-sama. You are well-reasoned and an intelligent leader. It is good to see there is yet hope in Kusari. *The man leans forward slightly, not quite revealing his face. A longer white beard is seen in a glimpse* I did rather enjoy the tea. ~The transmission goes black |
