Since it looks relatively simple without any antennas and the like, a form fitting sur would probably be fine.

Well do you think one shrinked bubble as hitbox could work out?
Actually I tried one, but while being able to detect collision it did not respond to weapon shots.

The ship concept looks like a junker ship, I am getting a vib of Junker since it looks like a engine section of a Liberty Cruiser. If the rest of the ships are made using random ship parts, where its not ugly, might get some results. Good model.

Only one "module", that one wich is called "root" was able.
