Subject - An Offer Dear sirs,
As you are already aware we've run into a bit of a situation with ALG where they have demanded to inspect one of our vessels using Aland Shipyard as a neutral ground. Due to our inability to legally acquire Stork transports these past few months we have had to turn to other methods for getting the vessels out of Rheinland. The Stork in question IMV Smyrna was moved by our contractor using fake ALG paperwork which apparently was reported to them. I'll cut to the chase. Having this revealed could be very damaging to our efforts to make peace with Rheinland. If you would be willing to help ensure that technicians on Aland determine the report to simply be a glitch and not evidence of any wrongdoing we would be most grateful, and willing to express our gratitude in several ways including deliveries of untraceable credit cards to a discreet location of your choosing. I look forward to hearing what you think, the Stork in question will be arriving at Aland within the next day or so. I am not unsympathetic, but there is very little the Guild itself can do. ALG indicated they will bring their own inspection and technical personel, using Aland only due to it's location outside of Rheinland's sovereign space. We are providing facilities, not manpower in this matter. Aside from that, we are not in the habit of lying to one of our partners. But at the same time, it would be beneficial for the stability of the Omegas, were Interspace no longer at odds with Rheinland. There are enough conflicts in Sirius as is. Persistant rumor has it, however, that you yourself have had dealings with at least a number of Hessian groups. Both their, and Corsair activity are notorious in Omega space. It would be tragic, were the transport lost, or severely damaged (including an explosion destroying the main computer and all evidence thereon) while enroute to the shipyard, no? Regards, - Johnathan Sanders Ps. Incidentally, what is the problem with acquiring a Stork class vessel? They are merely refitted trains capable of carrying four carts. I understand there's quite the expense involved in modifying the tractor engine and linkage assembly to carry the extra strain, but it's far from impossible. I would have assumed the DSE main shipyard in New York able to make the modifications as needed. **** Transmission Closed **** To: The Independent Miners Guild Guildmasters - CONFIDENTIAL - Miranda - 07-31-2012 Comm ID - Maggie Shoemaker
Subject - An Offer Mr. Sanders,
Hmm, that's an interesting idea you propose, and I thank you for it. I assumed that ALG would trust you enough to inspect the vessel yourselves. We actually spoke with USI about the Stork upgrades. We may end up investing in Duluth Shipyard in the future to provide them with a platform for producing the vessels wholesale. For the moment though it's still a bit of an issue. Thank you for your assistance. We are in your debt, and I hope we can build a better situation in the Omegas together. Maggie Shoemaker CEO, Interspace Commerce |
