Bretonian kids / education / predjudice ? - Hidamari - 08-02-2012 I was wondering what the education system in Bretonia regarding the Kusari war period would be like, and how are the Kusarians projected to children in Bretonia? since children are very susceptible to the views and influences of those around them, and even if they dont understand the reason children can become very opinionated based on these factors, parenting, social influences also. so are Kusarians met with hostilities in Bretonia by the younger generations? Possibly due to drafting many will have lost all kinds of family members brothers sisters mothers fathers, maybe even all of the above to the Kusari war before the frogs turned up. discuss pls:) Bretonian kids / education / predjudice ? - sindroms - 08-02-2012 Noone really Rps here to such a degree to actually note it. What impact would this have to actual Bretonian RP? Bretonian kids / education / predjudice ? - kikatsu - 08-02-2012 It does not seem out of the question, the war was a mess and practically brought Bretonia to it's knees, so obviously there will be some frustration. However the politics of it all are a bit convoluted, because that was the Imperial Kusari they were fighting against...now Kusari is a republic, but relations have not warmed, and Bretonia is being aided by the Imperial Kusari Exiles who were trying to kill them but are now actively defending Bretonia. I would say it is possible... I can see people viewing the Exiles with some resentment. Or...something. It is a mess. Bretonian kids / education / predjudice ? - SummerMcLovin - 08-02-2012 An interesting question. There are unlikely to be many families completely untouched by the war, but that doesn't mean everyone will hate them. I'd think there'd be widespread lingering resentment, but some will not view everyone so badly. Probably similar to WWII aftermath. Another factor will be where things are about to go in the future - since we don't even have full trade relations back yet. If Kusari aids Gallia too much, the Bretonian opinion will worsen; if they step back from the war then maybe not so much. Bretonian kids / education / predjudice ? - Hone - 08-02-2012 Couldnt have said it better myself Summer, probly it also depends on wether the bret gov hurries up and patches up relations with the new kusari or not. Bretonian kids / education / predjudice ? - Miranda - 08-02-2012 I think it would be in the schools as well as from the adults telling the kids war stories. Kusari is also allied with Gallia now, who Bretonia is still fighting. Bretonian kids / education / predjudice ? - Ursus - 08-02-2012 Just flip whatever switch made the Emperor okay, no more resentment Bretonian kids / education / predjudice ? - Fletcher - 08-02-2012 I find it doubtful that the government would add 'anti-Kusari' lectures or notes to any kind of curriculum, there would be a large amount of dissent for that, at least early on. However, there are no rules about propoganda outside the school, and the kids would likely be heavily influenced by that indirectly. Not to mention a good amount of them must have lost friends and family to the war, depending their mistrust or even hatred towards the Kusari people. Its a classic case of hate breeds hate. Doesn't matter who or where its from, as long as there is a war going on the younger generation is going to be the worst affected by it. I may get a slap for this, but think about the run-up to the Cold War when USA introduced anti-communist propaganda and laws since they feared the Soviet influence so much. Truman was it? That's just an example, not a stab at USA. WWII was comparatively small by comparison to the scale of this conflict, and then of course as people point out they now also side with Gallia. Kusari is also allied with Gallia now, who Bretonia is still fighting. They're not full allies, it's more Gallia saying "We don't actually need to kill you, it was the Emperor being stupid" and Kusari getting their money's worth out of the trade agreements. Not necessarily how it would be seen in Bretonia though in fairness. ' Wrote:I find it doubtful that the government would add 'anti-Kusari' lectures or notes to any kind of curriculum, there would be a large amount of dissent for that, at least early on.Right enough, they're not going to be 'taught' to hate Kusari in school. The lessons would be skewed to Bretonia's side of the story though. As you say, there'll probably be outside propaganda, maybe even a few hate groups that spring up. |
