So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Corsair - 08-04-2012 As I found out the hard way, you still need a very high Guard reputation to buy guns for even small capital ships like gunboats. So, what was the point of eliminating Guard IDs if you still need to grind for hours (2 hours logged on my GB, only done 15 missions so far /w .3 rep) to be able to buy faction guns? Not sure if this is just because Red Hessians haven't been fixed yet but I would really like to see the required Guard reputation to buy guns drastically lowered. Like to the -.3 range, which is neutral and dockable. To get that far you need full green rep with the non-Guard variant anyway. I hate grinding against laggy NPCs more than I hate fighting laggy players because of the jumpiness of NPC flight paths. And that habit of using only one shield battery to keep their shields just barely alive. Anyway, rant over. Please, for the sake of people's patience, lower Guard rep requirements. So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - SnakThree - 08-04-2012 It's like that everywhere where I tried getting stuff. You still need to grind to be able to buy stuff. Or you can ask others to buy the stuff for you. You dont have to do any missions at all. If you want to do missions, take the ones that only need you to destroy a base without having to kill everybody, since you can do those just fly out boom fly back. If you can get a partner to stay on the base and relog between missions, you dont even have to do the flying back and forth part. Quote:Anyway, rant over. If someone has a full reputation with corsair can also purchase capital ship guns. He/She have to go Omicron 94 at Syros Shipyard. Only purchase Heavy Mortar need Guard Affiliation. So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Marburg - 08-04-2012 Having done alot of grinding in the past couple of weeks, I can say that I'm irritated by it as much as anyone else, but the bottom line is, grinding is just part of playing the game. If it takes a certain amount of guard repping to get the guns you want, then you simply take the time needed to rep up yourself or save the time by group repping or just buying a rep off someone. If you're not willing to do what is needed to get what you want, then I hate to break it to you, but you don't really want what you want as much as you claim. My unwillingness to grind for hours has no bearing whatsoever on my desire to have a Hessian Gunship. Your statement makes no sense at all. This is a game that I play when I want to have fun. If I want grind, I'll go to any other MMO. This is an action game. I'm not saying make Guard reps useless, just make them less harsh. Isn't it supposed to be common knowledge that you've gotta have some pretty darn good guard rep for access to cap guns? >.> So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Marburg - 08-04-2012 ' Wrote:My unwillingness to grind for hours has no bearing whatsoever on my desire to have a Hessian Gunship. I'm not saying make Guard reps useless, just make them less harsh.actually, it does. Repping up to guard is easy, just tedious. Like I said, grinding is irritating to me too, but if I want something, I have to take the time to get it. Certain weapons are supposed to be a little more time consuming to get & that's why they're set the way they are. The reason I think lowering the standards to acquire certain things is such a bad idea, is because it caters to people's laziness. If anything, it should be more difficult If a person wants a glass of water, that person needs to get off their duff & go get a glass of water. That person can grumble about having to expend the energy having to do it all they like, but it's faster than hoping someone will serve them up a glass of water on a silver platter just because they don't wanna go to the kitchen & turn on a faucet themselves. ::Edit- on a quick later re-read, I seem to be coming off harsher than I intended. For the record, I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything:$...just bein' blunt & all, y'know?:: |
