Rudo - Junker Congress - 05-14-2008 The identities of the proud Del Raza clan have remained a tightly-kept secret for generations. Some have chosen to keep to the proud masks and the wrestling tradition of their forefathers, others have chosen normal life without the mask and adopted new names to protect their brothers and fathers. But when the skies darkened, the wrestling ring was not the only battlefield the Del Raza clan brought their masks and fearless fighting spirit to: several Del Raza luchadors were among those doomed fighter pilots who made their stand when the sleeper ships launched, their names and masks prominently recorded in the family home before the shrine to the great El Santo. Fast forward a few centuries. The Del Raza clan have made their home and their living on Planet Curacao. Among the many attractions at this infamous tourist hub, one featured prominently is wrestling. And while the name Del Raza is rarely mentioned on live broadcast, most in the business know they are the ones chiefly responsible for keeping the spirit of Lucha Libre alive. -- Enter our hero. Several Del Razas have expressed an interest in taking the might and bravery of the luchador to the stars, to honor their ancestors and to seek out new fortunes, new paths and new venues to expand their proud tradition. But first, only one may go, to fill the family coffers and to gauge the situation out in the depths of Sirius. Chosen because his peaceful demeanor and eloquence would best ensure a safe and successful spearhead, Rudo now runs freight between the houses and among the border worlds. A diplomat first and foremost, he is tasked with raising the funds to ensure his brothers by blood and spirit will have the craft needed to seek out their dreams and carve their proud names out in the stars. Rudo - Junker Congress - 06-09-2008 Greetin's. After some months of doin' my thing, I've finally come 'ta fin'e a home among the Junkers. I've come across people who have problems with my double-dealing capitalist ways, which ain't right considering everyone out there is out for a piece for himself. Hypocrites, all of 'em. From Ageira-bribed officials shootin' me up for supplyin' Cambridge with cheap pirated software (information deserves to be free, you'll know who 'ta blame when yer kids can't afford the tuition fees) 'ta Rheinlanders bein' annoyed I'm buyin' up their surplus Armored Vehicles. Hey, they're gettin' good credits for 'em... who cares where they end up? If they'd just leave politics outta the commerce they could take advantage of the big fat Navy R&D contract on their armaments too, y'know? Ah well, I'm lovin' my new family among the Junkers. All 'at matters to 'em is you don't bite the hand feedin' ya. They'll back you up how it's needed, an' their hands are in all the right pockets. The family business is pretty much up in smoke. Del Raza prevails, but corporate pressure put us under. We'll find a new way 'ta broadcast an' a new venue 'ta perform from. It'll take time but we're comfortable. Also, the Machiavelli needs new navigation equipment. Gettin' it looked at in Rochester right now, gettin' tired of plotting a course from point A to B and seein' "BEST ROUTE" take me through the heart of a star. Startin' 'ta think the AI-piloted ships that want humanity dead took it over or somethin'... Rudo - Junker Congress - 06-19-2008 Cmdr. Diego Herrera: Height & Weight: 5'5, 160 lbs. Descended from the Del Raza clan, but went his own way. Childhood spent on Planet Curacao, entertaining crowds in the family business. Enlisted in the Navy at 19 years old. Tested to be an excellent pilot. Selected for specialized interceptor wing, after Navy capitals proved ineffective at chasing enemies of the state that chose to evade over engaging. Also received Commander commission at this time, was given command of the LNS Don Frye, an auxilliary gunship based out of California. Deeply rooted to his beliefs, he is an ordained minister and acts as a part-time chaplain when on base. He has received citations for his pacifist approach to conflict, and excellent skills at persuasion and negotiation -- many conflicts about the trade lanes have been resolved without a single shot fired thanks to his intervention. |
