ok found a bug/error/feature don't know if this has been mentioned:

I was completing a mission for the Liberty police to take care of those darn Xenos(causing trouble again) when I noticed my ship giving me the hold full message without even tractor-beaming those xeno-cans in to send them to the slammer. when I finished the fight I noticed that my hold was full of this blasted scap metal. I thought mining ships only had automated mining sequences not my darn cheap ship that I bought second-hand off a junker who said he fixed up after he found it drifting near rochester. so if anyone could check out my ship that'd be great
so here's my loadout to those who care:
STARFLIER
2X adv. starbeam
1X heavy starbeam
freelancer ID.
scanner
thruster

for those who are curious it happened in the south dallas field and I was rather confused as I thought it was necessary to have a mining ID and mining turrets to mine anything Including scrapmetal.
If needed I can try to record video of me replicating the bug.
hope it gets fixed this could be rather gamebreaking if it works on other minerals as well.

any mineable resource can be mined by anybody, but the rate is greatly reduced

AFAIK normal guns and non miner ID can be used for mining, but they dont receive bonus as mining turret does

was wondering as I did not see any info on this in the mining thread.
so nerfed drops are still better than vanilla drops hmmm... could be useful...

The info is there if you read it carefully. Any combination not listed (IE mining without a proper ID/IFF combination or the wrong ship or gun) causes your mining bonus for those hits to be *0.5.
