The Haimen Alliance - Occam Razor - 08-15-2012 The Haimen Alliance
In 785 A.S., Zoner colonists landed on a planet in an unknown system that would later be called Planet Gammu. Upon landfall, their communication equipment failed, and they were unable to contact each other due to an unknown binary signal coming from within the planet. After multiple attempts to re-establish contact failed, they decided to find the source of the signals. A week of digging revealed ancient ships frozen in the planet’s icy crust. They were cut out of the ice, and examined. They were found to be Automatons of an alien origin, but had their memories erased due to the thousands of years of being frozen. The signals being emitted from their formations were deactivated, and the colonists brought research teams to study them. During their research the automatons were activated and Identified the colonists as hostile aliens. The colonists fled, but later returned with a peace offering: they had constructed replica ships, with a human mind implanted within a unique crystal matrix, in an effort to repopulate their race. The automatons (later named AIs) were an advanced, logic using race, and accepted the offering, and a new alliance was formed. Once the alliance had been formed, more human-AI ships were constructed. Five years after the creation of the alliance, a high council was formed to govern the new faction and to establish rules for AI and AI-Hybrid operations within the alliance. Shortly after that, a name was given to the Hybrids, The Haimen, and an Alliance of Haimen and AIs was found, the Haimen Alliance. A Few months later, an Artificial Intelligence Cruiser headed toward a floating wreck in the Omicron Delta System. It quickly recognized the wreck to be a Thresher Bounty Hunter Destroyer, but with unknown lifeforms inside. It examined the brains of a few lifeforms and quickly discovered their names: Scorians. Shortly after, the Haimen established their first contact with the Scorians. They helped each other multiple times until they decided to finally ally and confront the dangers of Sirius together. Later the alliance between the Haimen and the Scorians was no longer required by the Haimen, so they cancelled it. Since creation, the Haimen have followed their goals, which consist of the exploration of sirius, the study of Humanity, the Scorians and the Nomads, and the further understanding of the AI race. The Haimen also make it their mission to create peace in the Omicrons and the Omegas, and a try to acquire a higher standard of living for the human race using AI technology. Haimen go where their Research takes them. They always represent their ethics and condescendingly assess all people not believing what they believe as inefficient and unrealistic. They also only believe what they can scientifically prove. While the AI aspects of the Haimen will often accept that humans have their untenable beliefs, the hybrid Haimen will express their beliefs through anger, and will often argue about which beliefs are correct, knowing that their beliefs are the most efficient and realistic. The Haimen Alliance - SnakThree - 08-15-2012 Unofficial factions are restricted to only one ID per tag. While this is not officialy posted in the rules, there were sanctions handed out for it as well as some supporting comments from admins. Other than that, the diplomacy is strange. Why would this alliance be unfriendly or hostile to others if they are trying to achieve a better future? Unless that is propoganda. The Haimen Alliance - Hell Hunter - 08-15-2012 One ID only. I highly suggest AI ID only. The Haimen Alliance - Occam Razor - 08-15-2012 Ok thanks for the fast reply, i did not find that in the rules But it would destroy the "Alliance" and make it an AI Faction... Any suggestions for that? The Haimen Alliance - SummerMcLovin - 08-15-2012 My suggestion is ' Wrote:destroy the "Alliance" and make it an AI Faction...You could RP your humans by flying non-AI ships, but keep the AI ID. Regarding your alliance with these 'Scorians', that is up to you. However, new aliens to Disco are generally not wanted in the mod, so you might get some negative viewing for that. The Haimen Alliance - Occam Razor - 08-15-2012 ' Wrote:My suggestion is Yeah we will probably do that, working on the changes. The Scorians were not our Idea as you may read here. I don't know if they are still around, but associating yourself with a new alien faction won't warm people to you. The Haimen Alliance - Hell Hunter - 08-15-2012 New? loool anyway Yes we're still around. Also not everyone has the same opinon The Haimen Alliance - SummerMcLovin - 08-15-2012 ' Wrote:New? loool anywayI meant "newer than Nomads". Regardless, it's the community that you have to integrate with, or things will be a lot harder. If you pull off an AI faction well, it might be interesting, so good luck anyway.
