[color=#FFFF99]It was a busy as usual on waterloo station, people bustling everywhere, some it being their first time in space, groups of children on school trips getting their head counts before being allowed their free time away from the teachers, Tobias docked on the station still thinking about what had happened, coming to the conclusion that nobody would care since -well, she was a damn Kusarian for one- he landed softly his CSV rental, still not a scratch on it, being very proud of that fact he unbuckled himself from the cockpit seat and closed down the consol, standing up in the space and stretching, rolling his arms and shaking his head side to side to loosen himself up.Tobias Leonard (oldest son, Criminal) played by David 'Technosux' Sigemo Clytemnestra Version .3 (Evil Cly) played by Dii 'Hidamari' Stedman Harriet Leonard (Mother) played by Albin 'Nerflek' Eklundh Juliet Leonard (sister) played by Olavi 'Fate' Koplik Picking up his bag he stepped down from the cockpit and pulled down the canopy screen, it hissed closed and sealed a small LED on the side indicating locked status, he pressed a button next to a separate LED, the light coming on and a ladder descending from the side of the vessel, he quickly slung his bag over one shoulder and slid down the ladders and moved away from his ship towards the lift areas. It had always distressed him how busy this station became at these times in the day, it was 6pm and people were coming and going from work catching the trains as they left for planet New London and Thames, or some even further away. Into the lift he pushed the button for deck 40, the working class housing deck, reading the news on the monitors his blood ran cold, what he had done was already all over the news, so much for people not caring, the camera above him slowly turned and faced him, looking up at it, the camera seemed to follow his movements as he bumped into somebody else in the lift, whom shied away from his tough exterior. The camera then continued its sweep as if nothing had happened. Strange, stopping on his floor the lift clunked and chimed, the doors opening as he left, most of the people in the lift relieved at the fact Tobias was no longer there with them. With his bag still slung over one shoulder he reached the door to his family apartment, and took out a key card. Swiping it the light turned orange for a moment and then green which stunned him, the door opened none the less and so he entered the apartment. Tobias takes a few steps through the hallway and removes his shoes. In the process, he also shouts: "Mum! Sis! Im home!" Juliet, -Tobias's younger sister (17)- was glued to the TV, that was until she heard the familiar voice. Her face, voice and widened eyes would tell unknowingly that she was happy her brother was home: "Welcome home Tobias!" Harriet, -Tobias's Mother (45)-, came out from the kitchen wiping her hands on her apron. "Oh, welcome home, Tobias" she said with a pleasant smile. Tobias walks over to his Mum and gives her a big hug and then proceeds to do the same with his sister who came running from her room. "Mmm, It smells delicious here, what are you cooking?", Tobias asked as he peeked at the kitchen. "I saw a soup recipe on the net using a lot of garlic and tomato, so we're trying that out" she says and glances at the timer on the counter. "So what were you up to today?" Harriet asked, genuinely interested. Tobias nervously looked around, trying to avoid his mothers eyes and says: "Today? Well.. I.. um.." he stutters, trying to think of an excuse, and after a brief pause he says "I was helping a friend move some furniture today." Juliet's happy-face was now masking the sadness due to the obvious lie his brother had told. *What were you doing THIS time?*, she thought in her head, but in reality, stayed quiet and complimented on his efforts to help his friends. A strange crackle was heard from the speaker system that was fitted into every room in the station itself in case an evacuation or emergency was called, the television flickered showing noise for a few moments and then back to the usual program that Juliet had been watching, the fire on the stove also turned off briefly and the doors in the apartment opened and then closed returning to their normal positions. Cly now watching through a single camera imbedded as part of the entertainment screen used for the gaming device, using it to track their movements in the room, apart from the odd occurrences' nothing seemed different. Tobias looked at his sister with a sad face and said: "Alright, I stole some things from the market over at Planet Curacao. But nothing of importance, they will never even miss it!". He shifted his weight between his feet a bit and asked: "Now can I please use the bathroom?" Harriet walked back to the pot with soup, clearly disappointed and sighing heavily. "Go ahead, but that surge was odd; don't lock the door. It could get stuck if the electronics are on the fritz" Juliet climbed back onto the couch, continuing watching the TV. She was relieved that her brother came clean. Suddenly her voice filled the room: "Whaa-?! It stopped recording!", she yelled in a mix of anger and disappointment, because it seemed that the sudden 'surge' had stopped the recording process of her favourite TV show. Cly looked upon Juliet, closely regarding her mannerisms and noticing the distress in her actions at such a small occurrence. Tobias's attitude towards both her, and the older female was warm and close. After finding his birth records Cly now knew she was his parent. Now connected to every part of the apartments digital infrastructure, Cly could feel the door to the bathroom was set to remain open, it waited for the right time to act, which appeared to be fast approaching. In a more quiet voice Harriet asked her daughter "Do you think he's still lying? I mean, why go all the way to Curacao just to shoplift? Just the rental costs more than whatever he could've gotten, so he should've just been able order it with a transport" In the bathroom, Tobias turned on the water in the faucet and started to clean his face. After a while, he stopped and looked up at himself in the mirror and thought: "What had he done?! How can he even show his face to his family after what happened." Tobias shook his head and turned around to use the toilet. Cly acted the moment it sensed the water activate, knowing from the conversation they had that Tobias would now be separate from the other two, the door to the bathroom swished closed and sealed, the panel on both sides of the door deactivating. This was also echoed in the movements of the front door, sealing them in from the rest of the station. The lights flickered for a few seconds and then they continued as though nothing happened. the doors being made for a space station meant they were air tight, in case the hull was ruptured. Juliet, not paying much attention to the flickering lights and other anomalies anymore due to her disappointment, turned her head towards her mother: "I think he's telling the truth. You know, he can be airheaded at times.". Juliet almost believed that, but there was still a lingering feeling of deceit. She leaned on the couch, using her arms to rest her head on and observed her mother as she cooked, having lost interest in the TV. Cly activated a one way microphone from the living room connecting it from there to the bathroom so Tobias could hear what they were saying, however he could not communicate back. "Ah, he hears but never listens" Harriet sighed as she heard the door to the bathroom close. She tasted the soup again and asked Juliet "Does it need more garlic?" Tobias finished up with the toilet and flushed, and then proceeded to wash his hands. He looking at himself in the mirror again and took a deep breath. "Everything will be fine", he thought and turned to the door and tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge. Annoyed, he realized that he must've locked the door without remembering it. He tapped on the pad next to the door but it didn't light up. He started pounding the door, but soon realized that no one could hear through a door this thick so he sat down on the floor. "Why not? You know we both like garlic.", Juliet responded, her mouth starting to salivate due to the nature of the topic. There was a strange gurgling sound in the sink of the kitchen and in the bathroom next to Tobias then inside the bathroom the taps to the sink turned on as well as the showerhead and the bath taps, the gurgling was caused by a shut off valve down the pipes being closed as part of a air tight saftey mechanism. Harriet turned to the sink and tried it after hearing the noise. When it didn't work, she said "Oh well that's just great. Everything breaks at the same time when you're surrounded by electronics. Juliet, call station maintenance and tell them our things are acting up" she asked going back to the stove and stirring the soup. Tobias sat on the floor with his palms on his temples, when the water suddenly turned on in the faucet, shower and bathtub. He looked around him and got up. After trying to turn off the water that's rapidly filling the faucet and realizing that nothing is happening, he became a bit stressed and tried to think of a way to make it stop. Cly connected the telephone to the bathroom microphone but muted it so there was no sound, cutting off the communications in the house from, the television switched on displaying the news of a stabbing on cambridge research station. Juliet went to the phone, ignoring the change on TV. She dialed the maintenance, but didn't hear anyone on the other end of the line. "Odd, it seems like the communications are busted as well. I am getting a bad feeling.", she told her mother in a worrysome tone, her expression confirming her inner feelings even more so. "It seems like a virus or something must've gotten into the central computer. If things just broke, their displays shouldn't be lit up and so on. Turn the TV off and we'll go check if the neighbours are having problems as well" Harriet said putting the burner on the lowest and wiping her hands again. Tobias was starting to panic when the sink began overflowing and the water hit the floor. He started pounding the door again and he yelled at the top of his lungs. The phone in the living room began to ring, Cly unmuting the connection to the bathroom. Just as Juliet was about to open the front door, she heard the ringing. She quickly went back and picked it up. "Hello?", Juliet answered and listened, then she heard Tobias yelling as loud as he could a little ways off from the microphone. "Tobias?! Why are you calling? What's wrong?". Then she realised her brother had not returned from the bathroom. "Mum! It's Tobias! He's in trouble!" Harriet put down the ladle and got her head around the corner to see Juliet in the hall. "What? He's still in there? Honey calm down, it's just some technical problems" she said in a mothering tone. Tobias felt the water reach his ankles and quickly looked around for something to plug the tap with, but after a quick search he realized that there were only shampoo, toothbrushes and some other generic skin-care products in the room. "But he's screaming! I'll go check on him!", Juliet protested and hurriedly ran to the bathroom door, which was sealed shut. She pressed the button to open the door, but it did not respond. "He's still in there! The door is sealed shut!" Juliet deduced, clearly flustered. "What? Just go get maintenan.." Harriet said as she walked to the bathroom door, however when she could hear singing in the pipes of the apartment her voice had soon trailed off, realising the water could be going on in there. "Oh god! Get something to bash the door or terminal with, I'll go get someone!" her mother yelled and rushed to the door that lead out to the rest of the station. The door would not open regardless of what Harriet tried to do to it, the panel remained dark and the door air tight The cold water was starting to make Tobias toes numb and he quickly climbed up on the edge of the bathtub to escape the chilling water. He began talking with himself as if it would help him figure out a way to escape the bathroom. "Why isn't the water draining?! There is no way that it could be plugged" he exclaimed in frustration. He went up, grabbed a toothbrush and shoved it down the shower drain. After pulling the lid away, he saw that it was completely shut and that there was no way to open it... Juliet was looking around, visibly panicked, cold sweat pouring from her face. Her heart was pumping with fear for his brother. She tried to find something to open the door with, but what would be heavy or strong enough to open such strong doors, especially in a common household? She couldn't find anything suitable, wasting precious time. With the news of the stabbing now on the television Cly turned up the volume and made it loud enough to be unmistakably on, looping the news reel once it had finished it played over and over again. Juliet, still looking around shortly paid attention to the television, featuring news about a stabbing incident. "Stabbing... physical force... to open door. Door... blunt force, might open it. A hammer!". She got a panicked idea of using a meat-tenderizing hammer to somehow force the door to open. With that in mind, however improbable, she went to the kitchen side to find it. Realizing that the outer door was seemingly irreparably locked or broken too, Harriet heard the television now, it also increasing in volume steadily. She had no idea what was going on, but she knew that this at least was no normal electronics breakdown; this was planned by someone, and they were trapped like mice. Harriet rushed after Juliet into the kitchen and started looking for something to break the terminal with herself. Her daughter already on the job and going through the drawers at frantic speed, Juliet heard her mother entering. "Who would do something like this?", Juliet asked in despair. Instantly after uttering the question, she found the hammer-like tool. By now, Tobias had tried everything he could think of and nothing worked. The water-level in the bathroom was increasing at a constant rate and if it kept going, he would drown. Not until now had this thought popped up in his head and broke down in tears. Slumping down into the overflowing bathtub Tobias continued to cry, not bothing to getting up. Cly turned off the stove fire whilst Harriet and Juliet were panicing in the drawer trying to find something to bash the door panel in with. in almost the same motion Cly turned on the gas of all the rings on the stove on a lower setting so the sound of the gas escaping was not noticable. Juliet ran back to the bathroom door without waiting for a reply, tenderizer in hand. As soon as she arrived, she started beating on the door, still blinded by fear, what was now turning into terror. "Not at the door! Hit the terminal! If this is a hacker, we don't want him to have access in there!" Harriet yelled to her daughter, who only made dents in the hard metal surfaced door. The phone began to ring again, Cly having muted the microphone from the bathroom and began playing the sound stream of the news down the telephone Busy smashing the terminal into smithereens, Juliet yelled to her mother to pick up the phone. Cly watched them from the camera on the Television, the phone continued to ring. Harriet picked up the phone that Juliet had dropped on the floor and tried answering it, but it just kept on ringing. "Flaming hell! what's going on?!" she yelled at the phone, now losing the little grip she still had. Tobias had begun calming down by now, and also heard a ringing noise. He quickly determined that the source of the sound was the intercom connected to the apartment's phone, and as he listened he also heard other sounds from the background which he hadn't heard before due to the massive flow of water around him. He could hear his sister yell something to his mother, although it was a bit unclear what. Then, his mother yelled audibly and he tried answering back through the intercom, but realized that it was one-way only due to the lack of an answer. Still unable to open the door and tired from swinging, Juliet started to feel something was off, besides the obvious death-trap her brother was in, but she could not put her finger on what. In disbelief towards this whole situation, she started banging against the door again, ignoring the ringing phone. The television monitor flicked from the news to a recording, apparently of some CCTV footage, the recording showed the following scene. A young girl is walking down a corridor, "mm Cly what shall we have for dinner?" the girl asked seemingly to herself, looking at a device in her hand and moving away from the camera perspective, ::maybe we should ask uncle for some recipes:: A female voice answered the sound being undistorted and eerily clear and emanating seemingly from nowhere possibly from the thing in her hands, "But we don't want to ask Ojisan all the time for things, we should get it ourselfs too" the girl responded pointedly, ::ourselves:: the voice answered, correcting her it seemed. "Hai.. We meant that.." the girl retorted quickly to the correction ::well as long as you dont eat sweets again for dinner, we know they are bad for you:: the voice remarked in a caring tone, a group of youths were walking towards the girl, Tobias was there too, his face unmasked at this point. "Mmmrn but they are nice to eat though" the girl pointed out in protest, the voice continued to lecture her quietly. ::They may taste nice but that doesn't mean they are what we should be eating for dinner, we will get sick again and be an inconvenience for aunty and uncle Wolfe.::, *the girl sighs a little* "uh.. I Don't feel too good Cly we need to hurry up and get the medicine" she said with a weaker tone, leaning against the wall a little. Pulling up cover for their faces the men spread out ::I must temporarily run on minimal power I will be back soon please take care:: the voice said in an instructive tone not realising the situation. "oh okay Cly see you soon, ne.." the girl finished just as the youths reached her. One of them taking out a knife, "Yo.. stop there" the lead man whispered aggressively, "w-what is it..?" the girl asked in a defensive and flustered manner "we need to go.." she continued trying to escape through two of the men, "He said stop! you dumb fish" *The girl is pushed and then punched, the shock of both making her fall to the ground silent as she became dazed, two of the men laughed a little, the girl recovers after a few seconds covering her eye where she was hit "We didnt do anything! We didnt do anything! Leave us alone!" she screamed covering her head in defence. The leader crouched next to her with disgust on his face. "Why the ****, yeh, is a dirty slant eye fish walking free in Bretonia looking all nice an tidy with the slick dress and shoes and the cute little wittwe hair wibbon, mummy and daddy must be so proud of their little slant eyed kid, Tob', pick her up" he instructed to Tobias. Tobias did as asked and picked her up violently by the front of the girls dress lifting so her feet no longer touch the floor and bashes her against the wall, the girl begins to kick and shout trying to get loose. "Tasukete! dare ka! Tasukete! onegai! Cly! Ojisan!" //"Help me! Somebody! Help me! please! Cly! Uncle!" "STOP TALKING IN THAT DISGUSTING LANGUAGE.. Tob..make her stop" The leader shouted, becoming distressed at her use of kusarian in his presence, massaging his temple. Tobias bashed the girl violently against the wall, winding her and making her arms and legs cease swinging as she desperately tried to get her breath back. "Nobody gives a **** about you you know why? because your parents and the rest of your yellow kind are the murderers of millions" one of the other men said in a carefree tone as the 4 others closed in seeming to frisk the girl for valuables, one maliciously pulling off the flowers on her dress front and another noticing the necklace she was wearing and ripping it off. the Girl reached out frantically at the man who took her necklace and Tobias bashed her against the wall again to subdue her, she was crying her eyes out and yelling in between her tears and catching breath, "No! NO! that's not yours! that's our present! Iiyaaa!", the ringleader seemed to look around as it was taking too long. As the others backed off, the girl hit Tobias several times with the edge of the PDA in her hand, Tobias recoiled a little and cursing "Ow! ****.. stop that, you little bitch!" two men approached them rapidly as the others backed off, one being the ring leader seemed to have had enough. The other man on the right of Tobias grabbed her hand and snatched the PDA from her "i'll take that.." he said with vicious glee. The girl screamed tears streaming down her face "IIIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! CLY IIYAAA!", the leader stepped to the left of Tobias quickly "ENOUGH!", he bellowed driving a knife into the girls chest on the left side, she jerked as the knife was pushed into her, the rest of the men stammered backwards and scattered in obvious shock "Yo' man.. I di'nt know you was gonna shank her!' one man shouted in despair, "let's go! let's get out of here!" another echoed in distress . Tobias dropped the girl in shock and she slumped back against the wall holding her side, screaming in pain before choking a little, specs of blood protruding her lips as she passed out, falling unconscious. The video cuts out and then the room is left in the cold sound of the ringing telephone, text scrolls across the black screen. it read simply. ::Answer the phone:: Juliet had watched the whole scene. Her face pale white, she dropped the hammer in disbelief after seeing what her brother had done. Slowly, she went and picked up the phone, Cly connected the microphone to the sound system in the bathroom, so that Tobias could listen to the conversation. 'h-hello?' Juliet said in great anxious fear. A voice was heard as if the person was stood next to Juliet, there was no audible distortion in the voice, it was clear as day. The voice said 'In the harm of one comes inherent harm of others close. Harming Kiriko will be the last mistake ever to grace this family, it's clear deficiency in both punishment, discipline and morality do not coincide with the morals of Two, or the rest of Bretonia. One of seven will be erased, and you along with it.' Tobias's eyes widened in horror as he listened. 'No! NO! NO! No! Stop this! This is my fault it had nothing to do with them! PLEASE, LET THEM GO!' Tobias screeched almost at the microphone above the door, the water sloshed around his ribs and he found it hard to move, slowly the water began to make him feel pain by just how cold it was. Regardless of everything, Tobias Punched the door continuously, 'PLEASE! PLEASE STOP THIS! ITS NOT THEIR FAULT' Juliet shivered in horror as she listened to the female voice speaking, literally shuddering, 'm'muum..' she whimpered holding a hand over her face as her own tears began to fall, Harriet walked over to the phone and swallowed, listening to the message as it repeated on a loop. Harriet slowly placed the phone down onto the receiver and hugged Juliet to her bosom tightly, to comfort her daughter as she wept now knowing there was nothing she could do. The rings on the stove ignited the huge build up of gas in the kitchen area, Harriet saw the fireball coming their way but there was nowhere to turn or run to the fire engulfed them and they both began to scream abhorrently. With his blood all over the door, knuckles raw and broken Tobias froze listening to his family in hellish pain. 'No... Mum.. Sis... MUUUM! JULIET!!!!!!!!!!!' the blooded door bowed out suddenly towards him and a tremor was felt as an explosion went off in the next room. The impact of the explosion breaking his hand as the metal door met his fist at high velocity. A large crack appeared on the window pane behind the kitchen top stove unit and a violent hissing sound became apparent in the room, Harriet tried to douse the flames on herself and her daughter whom was screaming, just screaming until the thick glass shattered. Everything in the room was pulled out towards the window as the void engulfed the room, Harriet unable to contain her composure anymore let out a blood curdling shriek as she and her daughter were sucked towards the opening, as they reached it the lack of pressure caused the gasses and oxygen in their bodies to expand at a immediate rate and the pair of them violently decompressed, exploding in a terrible gush of crimson, which was flung in every direction, coating all around the windowsill and the kitchen top units, no body parts remaining. Tobias heard his mother scream in such a way he would rather have been dead than hear it, followed by immediate silence, he listened so hard he felt like his ears would bleed not understanding what just happened. The force of the bowed door snapping his right wrist completely, it hung lose by his side as Tobias rested his head on the door crying as if he were once again a small infant wanting to feel the warmth of their mother. Cly didn't speak to Tobias, not feeling like he deserved any contact other than listening to those he cherished being killed without him able to help, placing a subroutine into the apartment infrastructure, Cly left the controls on automatic, leaving the apartment knowing that Tobias would not be able to escape from the trap he had wandered into. The water reached the ceiling after 20 more painfully cold minutes, inevitably filling Tobias's lungs he felt the desperation of those last seconds slipping away, the pressure in his lungs and at the bridge of his nose as the water filled him, his eyes glassing over and becoming none responsive as he slowly drowned, struggling to the end, floating to the ceiling and staying there before eventually sinking down, his eyes still wide open, the last horrific moments of his life still visible in his frightened expression as he came to rest on the bathroom floor.. |
