Hidden surprise! - Hidamari - 08-29-2012 Deep inside kings cross station, crew were hard at work preparing for the managers birthday party, with the saddening news of Kiriko's stabbing, the men and women of Kings Cross needed something to lift their dampened spirits, after all, even the bloody Kusarians and Gallics both hadn't managed to demoralise the great Border World Exports. Balloons lined the walls of the canteen hall as well as runner flags hanging from the ceiling arcing down like a colourful red white and blue spiders web. The tables covered in patriotic Bretonian memorabilia and various party games had been organised, what could go wrong? the main party gift was to be brought by one of Petersons closest and most valued members of the workforce, since it was universally agreed that he would know Peterson better than anyone, everyone pitched in to make sure that he bought the best present money could buy. Hidden surprise! - Dashiell - 08-29-2012 Bellock had just come back from a short vacation on Gran Canaria. He had cut his vacation short as the local authorities had dragged up the bodies of some people who were later identified as Zoners from the local spaceport. Back on King's Cross Bellock heard of Peterson's birthday party and was told he was tasked with arranging the gift for Peterson. An evil, hollow laugh could be heard throughout the entire station. The time hath come. Bellock would make sure Peterson would never forget this birthday as long as he would live (if he would survive it, in the first place). After checking off possible gifts like a timebomg, a contagious desease, an airlock with 1 door and a bar of soap strategically placed over a set of stairs Bellock got the perfect idea. he proceeded to call his old (actually, not so old) friends. The ones who lived at Ainu. They knew how to throw a party. Bellock had witnessed this first hand. And they weren't exactly coy. In his quarters, Bellock was about to make the call just as Tamara came in. 'haven't seen you in ages mr Bellock, where have you been?' 'oh, hullo lass. I was relaxing on Gran canaria. But it was quite stressful, still. vacation is murder, you know?' 'hm... yes. You're just to dedicated to Bowex, mr Bellock' 'Why yes... yes I am.' Bellock paused for a while with the comm set in his hand. 'Say, Tamara... do you happen to have any lady friends who like to party?' 'um, not really. I spent a lot of time... you know...' 'yes, quite. No worries lass.' 'Is this about Peterson's birthday? I heard you're to arrange the gift.' 'Indeed it is lass. Ill make sure no one forgets this birthday.' 'Im looking forward to it! But well, Casey is waiting for me... I'll cya around mr bellock' 'right love. ta ta' Tamara left the room. Bellock turned his attention to his comm set again. He set the channel and contacted Ainu. 'Hello lassies, it's Bellock. your Bretonian Sailer of Sirius. Say, a man I am ever so fond of is celebrating his birthday. We re having a bit of a party here and I was hoping you and the other girls could attend.' '...' 'Yes, yes, there will be liquor. Speaking of which, bring some of that Kusarian sucky along.' '...' 'oh, saké, whatever. You know what I mean. How many of you can I expect to come over here on KC and liven things up?' '...' 'oh? the lot? spot on. Ill send you the details in an encrypted transmisison.' '...' 'no, Im not planning anything evil nor illigal. Oh and girls, bring your strap-ons' Bellock ends the call. 'this won't sit well with Peterson... but then again, Peterson won't be able to sit well at all after today...' Another evil, hollow laugh is echoing throughout the station again, inducing cold shivers to those who hear it. Hidden surprise! - AshDent - 08-29-2012 Mark Wolfe trundled down a corridor aboard Kings Cross Station. A highly stacked hand truck pushed infront of him, his trusty co-pilot, Lance, pushing another behind him. Hearing that Peterson's birthday was approaching Mark knew he had to do something great to show his appreciation for the chance granted to him, and to hopefully clear a peace after his stunt in the BES Hobson almost left him without a craft and King's Cross Station without one of it's mooring points. "I hope Peterson forgives me for trying to slide into the mooring upside down after this" "You have to admit while fun, it was irresponsible and probably why you haven't been given a chance to try your hand with a Shire yet....not to mention you haven't paid your father back for the Perch anyways" Lance chimed in, always relishing a chance to rib Mark for being reckless at times. Mark had decided to raid his father's office for his contacts book while Stew was down on Cambridge Research Station with Kiriko. From there he retrieved and contacted the man he so hoped was available at this time. Morton Coutts, reluctant wine importer, was more than obliging, especially when Mark falsely said it was for Stew and not a party for Peterson. So taking time from his schedule, hoping Peterson wouldn't have his head for it, Mark collected the cases from Coutts and brought them here. Entering the room Mark saw everything was coming along quite well. Pushing his hand truck over to a table he yelled across the room. "Got the expensive fancy stuff guys, now we can rip it up" Hidden surprise! - Slavik - 08-29-2012 " Briliant! Those will do nicely with these cigars!" Richard stood next to a table as he yelled back. The table had several boxes of cigars on it and placed tactically around them several cigar cutters. "I had the orange bring back several crates of hand Rolled Rheinlandish cigars! The Smoke detectors have been turned off in this room as well so we can freely smoke without the alarms going off! Has anyone seen Bellock though? I'm curious as to what he got Peterson as a gift..." Hidden surprise! - Wiz - 08-29-2012 The New-Comer, Jack Silvain, Heard of his Manger's Birthday. He decided to present him something in appreciation for accepting him in Bowex. While he was thinking he entered the celebration hall, He looked at the balloons and colored ribbons with a smiling face, Then approached the tables slowly, Gifts of all kinds were waiting for the Manger, Diamonds (Or probably just crystals), Small golden statues, Artifact (Licensed surly)..... and even Rheinlandish Cigars. "So what should I give him" Jack said to himself, While he was walking the corridors a brilliant idea flashed in his head, He ran quickly to the lower part of the KC -Which few people usually visit it- And entered a dark room. After a couple of hours, He returned to hall and put a box on a table, But what is it?? Time will surly uncover this. Hidden surprise! - KaelanFrey - 08-29-2012 Charles Red was on a ladder, just finishing setting up ribbons and balloons to decorate the room. "No no. That one. No, not the blue one. The red one. Ye-- no! The one with that texture... yes, that one." said Charles to one of the crewmen of the KCS helping him. "And yep, that's it." However, as pretty as the decorations were, he wasn't completely satisfied. "Hmmm... I know how to spice this up a bit." He rushed to one of the engineering room and started building a contraption that would drop confetti and make a birthday horn sound (??) on remote command. No one seemed to mind though, even though he looked pretty excited. Charles thought to himself - "Man, why didn't I figure this one out before?" He had to hurry, he had to get his surprise ready before the manager even suspected anything in the Kings Cross Station. But, as far as he was concerned, he was too focused to think about it. Hidden surprise! - nerflek - 08-29-2012 Glenn O'Farrell climbed down the ladder which he was using to put up ribbons on the walls. Looking around, he noticed that his good friend and co-worker Hans Liljefors had arrived. Glenn walked up to Hans and started talking to him. "Glenn, you’re here!" Hans said as he saw him coming. Glenn greeted Hans back and asked: "Where have you been? We've been working on these decorations for quite a while now!” Hans’s smile widened as he said "I was picking up a 'lil something from back home on Cambridge for the chief. I know of this pretty small, local liquor house that has the best whiskey I’ve ever tried. Costs you half a fortune per bottle, but it’ll be worth it. Have you gotten him anything?" “You bet I have, it’s loaded on the Redgrave.” Glenn said with some pride in his voice. “Picked it up from Curacao while passing through the last time, I bet you he’s going to enjoy it for a looong time” “A-ha, going for quantity eh? I guess that works well too. Hand me another Bretonian balloon, will ya?” //co-written with David of course Hidden surprise! - Champ - 08-30-2012 Doors near the kitchen briskly opened and Colin walked out carrying stacks of plates and a container of shining silverware. The doors swung shut behind him, narrowly missing the fragile stacks with an audible whoosh. The climate of the room changed as the cool and steely kitchen air flew into the hall. Colin quietly began setting the tables that had been rolled out, meticulously straightening and evening the tablecloths and cutlery - of course, in their correct order. Had he not known that the majority of his fellow countrymen would near certainly have no conception of common etiquette, he might've been more satisfied as he stood up and admired his work. He briefly looked up at the rest of the hall, barely taking in anything else but to seem attentive and whooshed back through the doors. Colin wasn't necessarily well liked, let alone well known within the company, so he continued about his business of setting up rather quietly and helping where he could. It was likely he'd spend his evening at the party serving as a waiter more so than socialising, though that was purely a matter of preference. Hidden surprise! - Jim.Solo - 08-30-2012 James is walking down the corridor, stretching his legs, as he likes to call it (it's actually because he starts to fall asleep if he spends too long at his desk, reading all the reports, trade requests and other shuch mundane things he has to do now he's been promoted to flying a desk) when he see his old 'first mate' Mike Caine coming towards him with what appears to be a crate of beer ! 'Hello Mike, how are you? Haven't seen any reports from the Faraday, is she in dry-dock?' 'Oh hello Jimbo, can I still call you Jimbo or do I have to call you sir now?', he smirks at James. 'Hell no ! I maybe a 'Director' now, but I'm still a Transport Captain at heart; although the Executive wash-room is something to be seen !', he winks. 'The Faraday has been at Aland Shipyard since that fiasco with Port Smallwood, too dangerous to bring her back, I had to hitch a ride with the Brigade, young Tim brought me back on the Swift-Nick.' 'So where are you off to with that crate of beer, you haven't been doing under-the-table deals with Rheinlanders again have you?' James looks knowingly at Mike. 'No, no. Stricktly legit this, well I think it is... ' Mike looks off into the distance over James' shoulder 'No these are for Peterson's party.' 'Peterson is having a party? I thought he was more of a quiet pint in the Blue Lion sort of man' 'No this is a surprise party, Mart Bellock has arranged it.' 'Bloody hell if he's arranged it, anything could happen! I think I'll come with you and see what's going on.' 'Now, you're not going to be a party pooper, are you Jim?' 'No, but I don't trust Bellock. I'd just like to make sure all the airlocks are secure, all Zoner nationals have been accounted for and the fire-suppression systems are still operational; besides I could do with a beer, so it's a good excuse to stick my head in', he smiles broadly. They walk off together down the corridor and take the lift to the promenade deck. 'Level 2, Promenade Deck, Requisitions, Canteen, Viewing Area and Executive Lounge.' says the lift voice. As they passed the Viewing Area, James looks out and sees what appears to be a Kusari Explorer hovering about 500 meters away from the station. He turns, with a quizical glance to Mike. 'Hey Mike, I know I haven't flown in a while, but that is a Kusarian ship isn't it ?' 'Yeah it is; the GMG fly them these days to protect their convoys, Look see, there's a Geisha yacht just off her port stern manouvering to moor-up too.' 'Mike you go on ahead, I'll just call the Dock Master, see if we're expecting any visitors from GMG' 'Right you are, I'll see you in there?' 'Yeah sure, don't want to miss Andrew's party, I'll only be a minute' Mike carries on round the Promenade corridor and turns into the Canteen. The place is really starting to fill up now. He sees Mark Wolfe setting up a bar and Ricard Farbridge handing out cigars to anybody that would take one. 'I've got some beer Mark. Not sure what the quality is like, just don't ask me where I got it ! ' Hidden surprise! - Dashiell - 08-30-2012 Bellock looked out the window next to the airlock. the Geisha was slowly pulling in. A few minutes later, the airlock door opened and the Geisha's passengers walked into the hallway. Five Kusarian girls Bellock knew quite well by now. They were all carrying a sportbag. They saw an evil grinning Bellock standing in the hallway and bowed slightly. 'Ah, Bellock-san. Thank you so much for the invitation. We would not have missed this for the world.' 'Nor would I, ladies... Nor would I. You brought all the party necessities?' 'hai hai. Everything you requested. Even a few bottles of expensive 'sucky' we liberated from a Zoner whale in Honshu the other day. 'You see? This is why I love you Chrysentemum lot. Cheap, pretty and Zoner hating. Follow me ladies, let's get to the party hall.' Bellock lead the group on to the canteen hall where the party would take place, drawing bestranged gazes of the people they encountered enroute. Just before they entered the hall Bellock turned around. 'Now, you know who it is you have to... please?' 'hai hai, we know. Your boss that you care for so much. We think it's adorable that you have overcome any and all shame and asked us to do this for him. You must really care for your Peterson-sama.' 'Oh... I care allright. Did you bring the biggest you-know-whats you could get your hands on. Or around?' 'Haaaiii... but Im afraid we will hurt your boss. They're rather big...' Bellock struggled not to start jumping up and down and giggle out of sadistic glee hearing those words. 'Don't worry lassies, he's a giant ***hole, Im sure it'll fit.' The five girls gave him a puzzled look. 'I mean he HAS a giant... never mind. Just do what you do best and we'll all have a good time!' 'Especially me...' Bellock thought as he slid into the shadows, waiting to see what cruelty would transpire. |
