Services: Sword forging*

Hisashi Bladeworks offers the best in traditional Kusarian hand-made swords. We offer a variety of swords and blades ranging from the the Tantō, the Kusarian dagger of blade length 15cm-30cm, all the way to the largest ceremonial swords, Ōdachi, whose blade lengths reach up to 178cm and beyond.

All our blades are custom made to the buyer's preference. A buyer may choose, other than the blade type, a specific length, a specific style, a specific material, a specific forging method (See Annex I), choices to decorate their sword and many other options.

Buyers may even present to us specific ores or material they want to craft their blade from, so long as it can be crafted, we can craft it.

Thanks to the wonders of technology, we at Hisashi Bladeworks have devised a method to add colouration to any blade upon forging. By adding specific metals or chemicals, we can treat the blade in order to give off a specific hue. A bit of niobium and special iodine treatment will produce a blade that glows deep purple, perfect for any Hogosha who wants a blade to match the colour of his Black Dragon.

Sword colouring services are only available for new swords. The colouring process occurs during forging itself and cannot be done on any sword you hand us.
We will not charge material costs should you provide us with your own material to forge the sword with. We will only charge you for material we require that you have no provided and the cost of forging your sword.

[color=#FFFFFF]Sale and Pickup
Good things comes to those who wait. Our swords are each carefully handmade by our master blacksmiths. It takes a while to forge your sword, especially if the material is hard to work with or is highly ornamental. Give us some time to forge your sword, we will inform your sword is ready.

To keep our price to a minimum, we will not be delivering any swords unless it is a bulk order of over 100. The shipping fees for a single sword is too high and is impractical.
Our shop is located in Aikawa District on Planet New Tokyo, Shirase Street 3, #07. Feel free to pickup your sword when it is done.

Greetings,

You describe your swords as

Quote:A perfect gift for your war veteran or as a souvenir to bring back home.

Are they produced solely as display pieces, or are they strong enough for use in combat?

Regards,
Keita

Konichiwa Shiraki-sama,
My name is Hideki Tojo, I was one of your father customer but I believe you dont remember who I am, you were a kid when the last time I visit your father's workshop.
I see you have taken over your father's business with pride, I hope you can continue you family tradition as you father did.
Hishasi Family are known for their bladeworks mastery, that is why a several years ago I came to your father and he made me a unique sword *he shows a picture of a red-bladed-katana*
[Image: o_nw6VQ8RFQlxudpl.jpg]

Higitsune, a fire fox, a light yet strong katana, your father was made that blade to honor samurai spirit and the blood they have shed for Kusari, it was an honour when your father trust Higitsune into my arms.
Higitsune have serve me well, it has acommpany myself trough many great battles, but as human did, Higitsune getting older and fragile. On my last operation, I forced to use it to defend myself from close combat against several opponent and it has broken into 2 pieces, but luckily I manage to save both piece before escape.
Now to honor the memories of your father and the samurai spirit, I am asking you to recover Higitsune into it's early condition, so it will serve me once again.
Looking forward for your answer.

Konichi'wa, I will first answer Keita-sama's question before moving on to Tojo-sama.

Our blades can be used in combat. Though nowadays, where photon blasters and projectiles being more common. Fewer people come to us to make swords for the sole purpose of cutting and slashing and more for gifts. All our swords are strong and are combat capable, unless of course you request a ceremonial sword made of a high percentage of gold, that naturally, would be less suited for battle than say a traditional steel one.

I hope that answers your questions. Arigatou.

--

Now, for Tojo-sama. Ah, a beautiful sword indeed, a pity for it to be damaged that way.

The problem now is that the blade itself is in two pieces. I can't simply just meld it together, that would not only look horrible but it'll be a horrible thing to do to the sword.

We'll have to re-forge the blade and mount it on the existing hilt.

Saving the blade was a good move, I can further analyze the precise composition of the blade, this will allow us to forge a blade more similar to the original one.

Still, I can't say how much it'll cost right now, I need you to hand over the sword for analysis first. From there, I can figure out what materials to use and what style of forging to follow. Only then I can actually place a price on repairing this blade.

Konichiwa Shiraki-sama,
I do understand the difficulties in recovering Higitsune, but I do believe in your bladeworks craftmanship. You dont have to worry about the cost Shiraki-sama, this sword has sentimental value for me and I intend to recover it as it used to be.
I will send one of my trusted agent to deliver Higitsune into your workshop, I leave it to your hand and hoping it will be repaired soon

Konnichi'wa Tojo-sama,
Your blade has arrived in my hands and has underwent analysis.
Higitsune is a wonderful blade, lightweight yet strong and forged with great care. After analysis, I've found out that the blade was forged in the "Shoshu Kitae" or "Seven Layers" method. It's lightweight yet comparative strength comes from the materials used in the blade itself. It is forged using grade 5 hard titanium alloy for the outer layers, grade 24 titanium alloy for the middle layer, it is slightly more ductile, and a ductile aluminum alloy for the core. The usage of lightweight yet strong materials is what lends it its strength. The red colouration comes from cadmium, producing a greater intensity of red than copper.

The materials for this blade doesn't come cheap. My father must have charged a decent price for that blade.

I'll say the total may come to around $20 000 in total, counting cost fees and everything else thrown in. Expensive for a single blade but relatively cheap when compared to spaceship weaponry.

"Bonjour,

I wish to inquiry with how much Sirian credits a Soshu Kitae forged katana costs, and if it would be possible to have the Fleur-de-lys of the Gallic Kingdom imprinted upon one side of the blade near the hilt, and the emblem of the Kusari Republic upon the other.

Merci, and Au Revoir."

Konichiwa Shiraki-sama,
As I ever mentioned before Shiraki-sama, the cost is not my main concern, but there is something that bother me, I sense a fierce storm is coming soon, and I need Higitsune on my side when it is coming, so the question is will you complete this task on time ?

Konnichi'wa Bonheur-sama,
The blade depends on the material. You may specify whatever material you want the blade to be made of and we'll do it, so long as the material is able to be forged into a blade.

For now, I shall assume it is a traditional Kusarian steel blade. A steel blade done in the "Shoshu Kitae" is significantly more expensive than other methods due to the tediousness of the process. Together with the inscriptions on the blade, assuming they are not coloured, the overall price should range somewhere around 1000 Sirian credits or 1000 Gallic francs in your currency.

A better and sturdier blade can be made with more expensive materials though. We allow full customization of your blades, do tell us more about what you want.

--

Tojo-sama,
I must admit that we may not be able to have it ready so quickly. The "Shoshu Kitae is a tedious method that involves a total of 7 layers of alloys for the blade. Together with the relative difficulty of hand forging titanium alloys, I fear it might take a while longer.

Rest assured, we are already working on blade as we speak. We'll try to get it done as soon as possible. I estimate that the blade will be completed within two more days. I hope that is quick enough for you.
