"The time is now, brothers of the blade... We shall strike at those who cast us out, we shall crush their mighty empire to dust..."

Ok, so I've never organized an event before and could use some help from anyone willing. My aim here is to stage an escort event between the Blood Dragon Factions (nova pg included maybe?) as well as their independents, against the kusari naval forces and state police - and their independents.

Background:

One of the most outspoken officials against the Blood Dragon cause is headed to Planet Honshu to organize an opposition against them. This 'diplomat' has fabricated lies and deceit against the dragons in an effort to rally the kusari government against them. If his campaign is successful, things could become exceedingly difficult for the dragons, as the kusari naval forces would be permitted to take whatever action necessary to destroy the group of 'criminals'.

There would be three primary stages to the event:

1. Kusari naval forces gathering at the tau jump gate in Kyushu prepare to meet up with the escort at planet new tokyo. They must travel along trade lanes, but not within them (since travelling through the trade lanes would be far too quick =) The kusari naval forces would obviously have everything ranging from battleships to cruisers to gunboats and fighters/bombers in the convoy, while dragons and allies at this point are limited to fighters/bombers.

During this phase, blood dragons and their allies (golden C, primarily) would make hit and run attacks against the kusari ships, in an effort to weaken the escorting forces before they meet up with their target in tokyo. There is no penalty here for engaging cruise in order to escape combat, but all attacking forces must do so simultaneously. The idea is to cruise in, disrupt the convoy and attempt to blast one or two of their ships, then cruise back out of sensor range to make an attack further along the route.

2. Phase 2 happens after the convoy reaches planet new tokyo, where they meet up with the escort target - who will be flying an armored transport or something similar (VIP vessel, basically - though things like the kusari bumblebee transport might work).

Again, the convoy is not allowed to enter trade lanes, but must move along them at cruise speed or slower. Dragons can make a few more hit and run attacks between the planet and the honshu jump gate, but again only with fighters/bombers.

3. Begins when the convoy enters the honshu system. All blood dragon and allied ships are allowed here (up to battleships, though I dont think any dragons I know actually own one) - and the objective is to destroy the VIP being escorted.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated in helping to get this going. The Idea here is to get some pretty decent large-scale combat going on that I can record via fraps for a little movie I'm putting together.

1) The KNF only have one BS. Lotek's.

3) They should only be allowed to fire on the VIP after all escorts are dead, or should try and "kidnap" the representative to torture/brainwash him at Kyoto.

I've seen the Kusari battleships, I was referring to the Dragon Battleships... I've seen it for sale, but never seen someone flying it.

Dragon's have battleships? I learn something new everyday. :)

I've seen one OORP Kusari BS, and I've never seen Lotek's.

You have never seen the "Mighty" Kana? Well, that is because the AFA, KNF, and Corsairs destroyed it within the week of the AFA's coming into existence! (I wasn't there, but still) Yahaha! Yaha! Ha!

Onto the Event:

I don't like the Battleship idea. I might understand if there is a really high ranking official that the dragons want to intercept, and they move a Battleship to support their fighters and such, but the KNF deploying a Battleship or Destroyer to escort an official seems kind of wasteful, i mean, they could just move him on the battleship. There should be some kind of limit on what kind of ships the escorting faction can use.

Also, if there aren't enough KNF, who will come and help? There are several possibilities:

The AFA

The AFA are a xenophobic civilian militia. It would only make sense that they would help the KNF, we do it all the time already.

The Hogosha

The quasi-legal government lobbying mob. They help the KNF already too, and it would only make sense that they'd help out.

The Corsairs:

Corsairs are fighting the Outcast Coalition, right? So, since Blood Dragons are a part of the anti-Corsair coalition and the KNF and Corsairs have under-the-table deals about a neutralish diplomacy, they, in theory, could hear of this attack, and sweep in the save the day, since this is in Honshu and is easily accesable to Corsairs. Very unlikely, but it'd be nice.

To help the Blood Dragons:

GC:

Their main allies.

Outcasts:

Secondary Allies.

Junkers:

The mob opposing the Hogosha. The Junkers have always wanted to get into Kusari, but have been kept out by the Hogosha. Helping the Dragons can only help them.

Well, those are my thoughts not yours, and I gave them to you.

Ooooh. It's so hard to decide which side to play...KNF or outcasts. *Sigh*

I think this could be a good event. I would be very intrested to hear Gronath's impressions as he is running a similar event with KNF/RM. I might even be able to offer myself as the diplomat ( your discription of the diplomat sounds very much like Ze'ev to me:unsure:) I think you need to try and make the rules less complicated, as I think in events like this, the simpler the better. Can't wait to see how this develops as I have been trying to come up with an event the AFA could take part in.

Arise, Dragons... - RingoW - 05-25-2008

Sounds good, but in KNF pov this diplomat is telling the truth and Blood Dragaons want to neutralize him before they loose some of their Sponsors.:P
Sorry, but i cannot help you to organize this event. Time is limited. I wish you good luck and may participate in, when the event will take place.

You wont ever see the "Tawakemono", because of the giant weak spot, Kusari battleships have. Makes it easy to destroy it. Me as KNF has seen it only one time, when it was blowing up an illegal trader in Hiroshima.

@nOObI3t: Go for New London and wait til Mandalores pull out the Mhi Motir, their flagship. If they have not changed it, you will see one of two existing Blood Dragon battleships.

HG has a Dragon BS... Keiko Kitawa

KNF has one that I actually have keys too... flew it once in Hiroshima... triee to dock with Matsue base for 35mins without success... so that was it :$

But we have some 4 destroyers and a lot of GBs if they are "needed".
-------------------------------------------------------

But I think dragons (HGs first need to get their namechanges done.. that will take a while.... and there already is a convoy event like this right now.. Gronath's one.

I've seen one once, but basically it's a sucky BS, low armor, few turrets, no possibility of holding it's own against a kusari BS.

You'd have to be a masochist to use your one BS slot on one.

I have a dragon cruiser, but I will probably trade it in on an unregistered outcast destroyer. I'll bring my dragon bomber if I can.
