The Meeting - Chev - 09-22-2012 Quote://These members are: It was a midday in southern hemisphere of Gran Canaria. The weather other the desolate and nameless island was calm and warm, a perfect day for a picnic or any kind of activity outside. However, there was another kind of activity planned today for this place. The island was small and in some aspects it may look artificial - it contained only one hill, on the top of which stands a huge villa. There's no forest, only well planed and modeled park. Probably the newest structure here was a big landing pads floating on waters, which at the moment was totally empty. That was all that could be seen from a bird's flight. After a pause of few months, there were no guests in the island, so called "Baltakis' Paradise", an estate created by Daniel's grandfather long time ago. But today is a day, when after long time of silence, this desolate place will have it's first guests. None of the enlisted guests got the coordinates of the island. So, instead of guests coming to the meeting by themselves, they were picked up by hired shuttles. So, as the clock finally shows 2PM, Daniel silently watches somewhere far into the horizon through the windows of his estates. Far away, small black dots could be seen closing the island. A young, good-looking blonde in secretary dress comes into the room, disrupting the silence. - The guests are coming, sir. Daniel turns back at her smiling. - Okay, Rachel, you know the drill. The girl smiles back and nods, leaving the room afterwards. Daniel makes a loud sigh and, with the help of the stick, walks towards elevator doors, enters the combination of the numbers and enters the cabin. Elevator silently moves into underground levels deep under the mansion, where the meeting will take place. After few minutes, there are six shuttles landed on the pad. Soon, guests goes outside one after another, they're welcomed by Rachel: - On behalf of sir Daniel Baltakis and Baltakis' Paradise, I would like to welcome everyone,- She smiles gently to every guest, trying to memorize every face to make sure that there are no uninvited guests.- Now, since we all here and the host is already waiting, we shall proceed to the meeting room without spending any minute. I wish you to follow me. Rachel walks away and guests follows her. The group walks through a bridge, joining the landing pad with the rest of the island. More observant person could tell, that this bridge is a perfect self-defense mechanism, which probably could be lowered to create a huge gap between a pad and island, and there are no other surface, which could be suitable for any kind of shuttle. Escarpment on the shores of island makes it unreachable from a water as well. Even if it looks just as cozy estate on the top of island, it could be used as luxury defensive fort. Soon, just after a walk through a bridge, the groups stands against huge metal doors, "set" just into the slope of hill. Rachel walks towards the panel, enters the combination and doors soon opens. The soft blue light illuminates some sort of closed room, probably an elevator. Rachel stretches her hand showing guests to come in. As soon, as everyone enters the room, Rachel follows, pushing few buttons on the interior panel and closing the big heavy doors behind her. Soon, a short hum could be heard as elevator starts moving down. - The ride will take about five or six minutes, since at the moment the most of the energy is directed to the systems of lower levels and the "subject" itself, which requires huge energy input at the moment. - Rachel turns to the panel once again, presses a button, and soon chairs unfolds from the walls of the room. - So, please take the seats. As an elevator slowly moves down, the silence takes upon all the room. The Meeting - Doc Holliday - 09-23-2012 He was dressed in his ambassador's robes when he stepped off the shuttle. As he stepped off, a security guard stepped off with him. "Shall I go in with you, Sir?" he asked. Waving him off, Doc just said, "not right now but do stand by. If I need you, I will call." "Yes, Sir," he said as he turned and retreated into the shuttle. He then made his way to to a set of doors. Doc was impressed at the design, looking about as he walked. At the doors, he stopped and waited for an escort as he wasn't sure of where he was. As he waited, he went through some messages on his datapad. The Meeting - Chev - 09-23-2012 As couple of minutes passed, elevator began to slow down. Rachel stood up, facing every visitor. - I would like to inform you, that we will be entering the EMP zone soon. For the sake of privacy and security of the project, you won't be able to use any kind of communication devices, take pictures et cetera. If you have any kind of EMP-sensitive implants and they were described in your registration form, then they won't be affected. Soon, a toneless hum could be heard. Room stops moving. Rachel looks at the panel and smiles. - Ladies and Gentlemen, I hope the trip wasn't too long. I welcome you to Baltakis' Science Facility. The doors opens, exposing the dark room to the visitors. The size of it can't be told clearly, since the only source of light are few dim white lamps, placed on the only object visible in the room - the huge oval table with seven chairs. Everything else around is dark and kinda claustrophobic. Rachel stretches her hand in the same manner as she done outside the elevator, showing guests to proceed. As everyone leaves an elevator, Rachel stays behind them, still making the same firm smile. - Everyone, please take your seats. Mr. Baltakis shall come soon. As each guest takes a seat, a blue panel appears in front of him or her on the surface of the table. Panel indicates a name of guest, and has few options of "water", "coffee" and "tea". Once any of the option is chosen, a cup with wanted content rises from a hole on the table. After couple of minutes, door somewhere in the end of the room opens and closes, letting a tall human figure with a stick in his hands to enter the room. - Welcome to the Baltakis' Science Facility, dear guests! - A voice echoes through the room. As soon, as the man comes closer the table, he's being lighted by lamps from a table. Daniel is tall, blond male in his mid-thirties., wearing a standard suit. - Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce myself. My name is Daniel Baltakis, the final founder of this facility and the system I will introduce to you today. We will have to wait a bit before the introduction, since the power core is making the final steps before the launch of the system. At the moment, since the final steps are not made, the system requires huge amount of well-balanced energy. So, before I start introduction, I want everyone to introduce themselves. The Meeting - Petitioner - 09-23-2012 ~indSchnee took a drink of the provided water, and glanced around at the other guests, as if to silently ask them who goes first. Receiving no indication, he tugs at his tie, perhaps slightly nervously, and stands to speak.
"Ah... greetings, to my esteemed scientific colleagues. I am Doctor Wilhelm Schnee, representing Sparta Station in Omicron-74. As some of you may have heard, Sparta has a new administrator, Mr. Hiyobi Kita, and I was appointed as the station's scientific consultant. I, ehrm, think that should be everything..." He awkwardly took his seat again, his glasses nearly falling off of his face as he did so. Flustered, he grimaced and silently wished someone else would speak and draw attention away from his clumsy self. RE: The Meeting - Doc Holliday - 09-29-2012 Doc arrived to where the guests were assembling and took his seat. He looked around in awe. He was impressed by the efforts made to accomodate the guests. Patiently, he sat, waiting. RE: The Meeting - Strichev - 11-02-2012 Bauer felt a bit anxious in the strange room. The absence of any renowned scholar, something he had not anticipated, only made him feel out of place. In fact he didn't recognise any of the other guests. So he remained silent, nervously rotating an antiquated pencil. |
