Given the lightning of the character, you should invert the gradient on your BG and make the edges brighter. Also, the main focal (character) could use some more vibrancy. Play with Dodge, Burn and Sponge tool to make it stand out. As you said, the border could use some more work, instead of using a 30-60%-normal/multiply setting, try using soft-light instead, and make it white, not black. That will make the border "pop" out a bit and help furthering the illumination. |
