Since the dawn of life species had to deal with a daily struggle in order to survive and prosper.

Life has the miraculous ability to adapt to its environment and flourish in it, using whatever means provided by its surroundings.
Millennia passing with countless forms of life doing the daily grind shaped the world and societies we see around us today.
Making life easier is something deeply rooted in our genes , going back to our very first ancestors.
One cannot easily claim it is a meaning of life , yet it is undisputed a product of it.

Some of the ''higher'' life forms found means to utilize tools.
Mankind shows a clear example of this, but it is not only a perk exclusive to us. Think of sea otters using rocks to open shells, Bottlenose Dolphins using sponges to protect their snouts while hunting , or even monkeys using barrels to hurl at other monkeys.

These examples seem of little importance , hardly fascinating ,
but it were little steps like these that humanity took , in a long road forward leading to some of the most amazing discoveries , great artworks , and great inventions that shook the planet!

However...
Our steps forward did not stop at the butter stick.
we are still advancing , step by step going forward.
The urge to survive, still dwells within us today.

Although at first glimpse it seems easy to conclude that there is nothing left to discover in our natural habitat , no tools or techniques left unutilized by the ever learning collective knowledge of mankind,
there are always more things to learn than you've already learned.
And although survival most probably isn't always a direct reason for your discovery , and although many people might have come to the same invention before you , it's a fact that in the vast majority of cases this somehow benefits your quality of life.

In my opinion it is a good thing to share these little steps forward.
Sharing all these little innovations , utilising tools in our daily habitat will make our lives easier, and even help humanity forward!

On that note let me be the first one to share a personal amazing discovery, and a great urban survival method:

Do you know those nights when you are hungry , and all you have is that cold takeaway pizza that you couldn't finish hours before?
You don't wanna take the whole thing in front of your PC , a slice is enough.
As you try to cut off a slice of your pizza, you will often notice your knife isn't sharp enough , proceeding to use a so called ''pizza cutter'' also doesn't do the trick...
What happens is that your pizza topping flies all around the room , and you still don't manage to cut off a nice and civilized slice of pizza.
Cold pizza has the strange ability to quickly become strong as leather , leaving you staring at a pizza box full of nice toppings and a piece of cold mangled cheese-dough in your hand.

So then it hit me: scissors!
Using a average sized scissor cutting out that perfect triangle of delicious, while leaving all the nice and tasty toppings on there became a piece of cake.
Try it out yourself , you will be able to get perfect straight cuts , it's an amazing result with minimal effort that leaves the ''pizza cutter'' far behind it on all fields.
This made life so much easier, so now I shared this with y'all,
please share your survival techniques!

My god Joey, you're a genius!

I find marvel at the versatility of a cigarette lighter!

You can use it as a bottle opener, a fist re-enforcer, a door trap (Where you slide it between the door handle and the door jam with a small folded up sheet of paper to see if anyone tried to open the door whilst you're out), an object to hurl at someone, the spring in the lighter works well to scoop out THC oil as well as various other applications.

All these do not require it to be actually functional.

So the cigarette lighter is my urban heroes tool!

I have many more, but I'll wait for other creative people Big Grin

A lot of times, you need to drink a lot of coffee, and fast. But there is ever so little time to make it, and even less to let it cool down. You want a full mug of instant coffee, but you dont wanna wait for all the water to boil, nor for the coffee to cool down. But mixing the instant powder with less than boiling water gives you chunky coffee. Berk.

So, you fill your water boiler only enough to give you half the quantity you wanna drink. It boils faster that way cause there is less water to heat. Once its boiled, you pour the half mug of boiled water in your mug. Its nice and hot and disolves your instant powder without giving chunks. THen comes the genius part. You fill the still hot boiler with another half mug of cold water, let it go lukewarm from the still hot boiler, and pour that into your coffee. And... hey presto... you have a full mug of coffee just the right temperature for drinking, not chunky, ready to drink in only a fraction of the normal time.

My Keys
Lets see for one it opens all the doors a need to go through, unscrews annoying screws, scrapes dried mud from under my shoe, cuts small rope as well as most tape, opens my school locker when i forget the code and can hold onto my USB stick so i don't loose it. Marvelous thing my keys are.

I'm a terrible smoker. However, I've started using rolled tobacco (DIY cigarettes) for six months already. It's a way cheaper than buying standard cigarettes.

The day when I learned to open a beer bottle with another beer bottle by using my thumb as a lever point, was the best day of my life...

-Looking grumpy and having a mean haircut safes you from annoying beggars, street sellers and tourists - usable especially in the early mornings before work and on your return Wink

-Perfect beer opening skills: Park bench, sheet of paper, used tissue...master them!
