2. Does anyone have any tips on dealing with pirates? (i am a trader)

RE: a few questions - Maarb - 12-06-2012

Question 1 Answer I think do not know if it work but it did for me Do some missions for the BAF.

Question 2 Answer Try to make an agreement to the pirates Or just avoid them What I do is trade when there are not so many Players online Play when players are less than 60-70

Do lots of missions for the baf, more like

You'd do well to take a BPA bribe, a Bowex bribe, and a planetform bribe
and then do a bunch of missions..and they'll end up about neutral once BAF regular is full on green.

As for pirates...if you're going to play along with their demands, make it clear to them that you're not moving, and then have a chat, maybe bargain. Sometimes they can be hired as escorts, etc. If you do want to mess with them, etiher hire an escort, which is nice, or check the upcoming lanes to see if theyre blown up. IF a lane is blown up in front of you, you can bail early, and that gives you a few more seconds to respond.

The only way to raise reputation with house military guard faction is to do missions for the regular house military faction. You only need to be out of the red for them to stop shooting you, and -5 neutral to land on their bases, but you need full green positive to buy cruiser weapons and that takes about 45 missions.

Pirates, you can either pay or run/fight. Most people pay, its up to you.

RE: a few questions - Flashâ„¢ - 12-07-2012

1. Answer: To get them on your Rep list, you need to see a NPC in Salisbury, and to raise rep, get Bribes for Police, and some corps and do about 45-55 missions.

2. Answer: Most people pay the pirate, some rather die instead of paying, and if your close to a docking place and you are positive, some risk it, if its Bomber, dont try.

A bit of clarification for your first question. If you don't mind a time lost you can take bribe for BAF, then drop BAF rep by taking and canceling BAF missions, then bribe again. You won't lost BAF guard rep when droping missions. 3-4 cycles and you'll have a nice green rep. Maybe you'll have to take few missions, also. As for missions taken, the least time take ones to destroy a base without killing enemy snubs, the most time take missions to clean-up area from enemies.

Never do this. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will. Seriously, nothing kills a fun more than thoughts thats you HAVE to play a game. If it's your time zone makes you to log in when server is empty, than it's ok, but making oneself to start a game just to make a profitable trade run, ugh. Eventually you'll find out that not all pirates are that terrible as they are portrayted in QQ threads, you can have some fun RP with pirates.

Wrong, bribes for house military factions dont exist,
only way to get their guard rep is doing lots of missions

Rechecked with FLStat, indeed I was wrong, all house military factions have no bribes, sorry for a disinformation.
Anyone know a reason why military factions were made so honest?

You can boost rep with the main military faction through bribes to the other lawfuls and corps (eg, 2x bribe to LPI and LN will go up). But this does not boost rep with the military GUARD faction And since there are no bribes for the military GUARD faction, the only way to raise that rep is to do missions for the main military faction.

I assume it was done to minimize the number of lolcaps. You have to mission grind to buy turrets.

Well, considering a number of lolcaps this restraint simply don't work, cause anyone can buy a capship from another player, but thanks for your answer. I agree with you, thats was an idea.
