CNS News: Skirmish at Freeport One, several dead. - Silver - 12-12-2012 10/12/819 - Omega-3 System - Ever since the short Omega-3 War between Bretonia and Rheinland, the fights between the several forces that use and have a claim in the system, has dimmed to an all time low, granting a small modicum of safety and peace to the traders and citizens that live and use the fast corridor that joins two great Houses. Unfortunately today, Freeport One, the once center key of the whole O-3 War, saw a battle up close and personal. First hand witnesses claim that two forces, composed by Corsairs and Rheinland Military, clashed right in front of the Freeport. While reports are still trickling in, some of them claim that the Rheinland Military forces were sporting Buro Der Marineintelligenz color schemata and that their efficiency in the battle was above standard. Same reports also mentioned that the corsair force was mostly composed by the infamous corsair Brotherhood, and that their savagery in relentless attacks was key in prolonging the fight. The skirmish lasted at least twenty minutes, and several shots by both capital assets stressed the famous Freeport One shield, even causing severe malfunctions in several levels of the station. Reports indicate that these shots were not aimed at the station per se, being branded as stray shots in the middle of the fight. Already, Rheinland officials disavowed any participation of any Rheinland Military forces in Omega-3 and that said actions would constitute an act of war, something that they do not want, as their relations with the Bretonian House are strong in both economic and political sense. Top analysts do point out that it could be an incursion of the famed Wilde, that haunt the Omega sector, using Rheinland hardware, to instigate another war that could further weaken the Rheinland House. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
On a more sorrowful note, over 20 people have died, due to general malfunctions within the station, probably caused by the stray shots that managed to hit the Freeport, damaging several levels of the station, and even the whole administration level was severely wrecked by what it seemed, a gas system malfunction. Among the dead, two persons of note were identified and are to be mentioned. Steve Holloway, former Mandalorian Consul and who was working with the Bounty Hunters Guild presently, a long time and well known bounty hunter in Bretonia, died due to an explosion as the report mentions. And Genine San Savage, the station Administrator, known by her iron hand in solving key situations that allowed for the continued safety and peace surrounding Freeport One, perished in her office as she coordinated the efforts to subdue the damage and controlling the Freeport's population. CNS will release several updated news reports on this matter in the next days. RE: CNS News: Skirmish at Freeport One, several dead. - freeport1 - 12-12-2012 PRESS RELEASE Freeport 1 confirms the CNS report of the action outside of the station as well as inside. Key circuits in the shielding control systems were sabotaged causing a massive drop in shield energy of the entire triple layered system. Additionally, explosive charges were detonated in the same areas targeted by the capital ships in order to cause more damage. The perpetrators were found attempting to place additional charges and exchanged gunfire with security personnel. Four agents were killed and two severely wounded and three security personnel were killed in the exchange. Backup systems have been activated and repairs are in progress. Those responsible for the incident will be found and punished. Freeport 1 has contacted the Reaver Mercenary Company to assist with the capture of those responsible. We of Freeport 1 and the Confederation of Freeports are deeply saddened at the loss of life today. We are especially saddened at the loss of our administrator, Genine San Savage. Her tenacity and strength of will was a key component behind the stability of the FP1 during the last two years, and instrumental in the formation of the Confederation of Freeports. She will be dearly missed. In keeping with her wishes, her remains will be launched into the Neutron Star in Omega 41 at midnight SMT. Freeport 1 names Sandra John-Kane as interim administrator. The Guild offers their condolences to all those who suffered grievous losses. There will be the right time for mourning, until then the Guild wants to help. We can offer help in the treatment of the wounded. Aland, Freistadt and Falster Trade Center have medical facilities, and especially Aland is capable of performing state of the art emergency surgery. The facilities have been put on high alert and are ready to receive the injured. Furthermore, the Guild offers help in the reconstruction of the damaged sections. Aland shipyard has already been ordered to stockpile Robotics and Falster will spare some of the reserve ship hull panels and repair materials to assist in urgent repairs. Technicians and engineers are waiting for the permission to assist in the reconstruction effort. The repair ships Red-3 and Red-4, stationed in Cambridge and Omega 7 have been prepared for immediate launch. The Guild is here when you need anything of us. Classified In response to the attacks that threaten the security of Bretonia near her southern borders. The Fifth Suffolk Fleet, in conjunction with the Third Norfolk Fleet, will be deploying two cruisers and a single wing of fighters within the system to protect Bretonian assets and assist with any necessary rescue operations that maybe needed on Freeport One. - Sabre Actual RE: CNS News: Skirmish at Freeport One, several dead. - Silver - 12-12-2012 PRESS RELEASE Good evening. I am Sarah John-Kane, the newly appointed Freeport One administrator. Hours ago, a tragedy struck the heart and hub of Omega-3, as you all know. There is a tragic loss of life, but in these times of distress, offers of aid are already reaching our station. It reminds me of who we are in this great system. People of good. Ready to assist one another in times of need. Due to the harrowing experiences of the Omega-3 war, our medical staff and intensive care units are one of the most experienced in in-battle medical treatment, and thanks to that, the death toll reached thirty-two and it is there for these last hours. As it stands, we do not need any medical assistance at the moment, and i foresee none will be needed in the near future. However, due to the shield control failure, several levels of the station find themselves severely weakened. For that, we do need help in repairs and in materials for urgent, on-site repairs. Our engineering crews are working round the clock, but the damage is too big in some sections and too perilous in others. Too much faith was put in the invincibility of the Freeport One shield and we payed dearly for that. A mistake i will not make. I will provide the people and customers of Freeport One a safe and peaceful location. As Mr. Raven explained previously, the culprits will be caught and dealt with. And the people that lost their lives, especially Genine San Savage, will be revenged. I thank you all for your offers to help and i will accept them glady in the coming days to get this great station to shine like the beacon it once was in the middle of Omega-3. Sarah John-Kane,
Administrator, Freeport One. RE: CNS News: Skirmish at Freeport One, several dead. - Gentlefood - 12-13-2012 ALG will be rerouting some of our Golems from the lower priority cleanup areas to attend removing any debris that could have occurred during this tragic event. Another thing ALG is prepared to do, is donate materials for spot patches along the station hull, where potential breaches have occurred, or are threatening to breach. Alas, with the current state ALG and Rheinland is in, we cannot offer much more assistance, but I hope for the safety of the remaining crew and populace on-board Freeport One. And as such, I will make every attempt to personally oversee the cleanup operation if possible. RE: CNS News: Skirmish at Freeport One, several dead. - Doc Holliday - 12-17-2012 *incoming transmission* Comm ID: [TAZ]Doc Holliday Location: Shasta Orbital Skyhook, Baffin System To: Miss Sarah John-Kane The people of the Temporary Autonomous Zoners express their sympathy and sorrow for the lives lost today. Miss Savage was a very good administrator and someone's company that I enjoyed in our few short meetings. My medical staff there informed me of the attack but have been busy so I've heard little of them. Please let me know or Ambassador John Rackham if you need further assistance. If it helps, I can have the newly commissioned Med.Force.Three head to you. Yours in Eris, Dr. John Henry Holliday TAZ Administrator RE: CNS News: Skirmish at Freeport One, several dead. - Klingon Council - 12-17-2012 Comm ID: Commander Korrd Location: Command Bridge, I.K.S. Khaless To: Administrator Sarah John-Kane With your blessing, we will remain at Freeport 1 as we always have to keep peace there. I request this in honor of Miss Savage who welcomed us with open arms. I will re-tag the Khaless and our bomber, the Malpara, to reflect our duty there. Amongst our dead was our former leader, Emperor Gorkon. He died en route to Cambridge. It is a sad day for us all. I can only hope those who we brought to Cambridge will be OK. Commander Korrd Commander, I.K.S. Khaless FP1 Security RE: CNS News: Skirmish at Freeport One, several dead. - Silver - 12-17-2012 PRESS RELEASE Good evening. As you know already, repair crews are still working on the clock to repair the damage made to the station. Civilians and company workers are already trickling back to the station, and a semblance of peace that was known before, is setting in once again. It is not setting in, in my heart. For i will find whoever jeopardized and sabotaged the Freeport One from within. In order to do that, the Reaver Merc. Co. Security Teams are already investigating the happenings and gave report that all sectors and levels of the station are clear and safe once more. But until such day of revenge comes to hand, i must give thanks to everyone that gave support in this mournful day. Khaless, FP5 5-1 Personnel, Corsairs, IMG, BPA, Bowex, ALG, RoS, Stone.Bros.Ltd, BIS, Mollys and all the people involved that helped in saving the lives of countless people, so i can continue Genine San Savage's legacy. I must thank you all. And i will, every day for the rest of my life. Sarah John-Kane,
Administrator, Freeport One. RE: CNS News: Skirmish at Freeport One, several dead. - Omicron - 03-04-2013 04/03/820 - Omega-3 System - Three months after the tragic success in Freeport One, the current administration in charge can solidly affirm that the station has become once again the reference point in terms of commerce in the system, now heavily impulsed with the help of the Port Talbot project conducted by Bretonia. However, if the skeptical minds that never found enough evidence for the light and shadows surrounding the events that took part three months ago, today they might have a reason to bring the Freeport One incident as discussion topic. The bounty hunter known as Steve Holloway, whose reports deemed as killed in the attack, was spotted earlier by our correspondent based in Freeport One flying a Wraith snubcraft a couple klicks away from the station. <CNS>: Mister Holloway! Mind sparing some of your time to answer a couple of questions? Steve.Holloway: Wrong comms, can't listen. <CNS>: May you explain the confusing reports regarding your death during the last attack against this station? Steve.Holloway: Hello? Hello? Can anybody hear me? Comms are screwed, I said! Unfortunately, the pilot rushed his way out of the scene toward Aland shipyard, leaving no chance to be followed via trade lanes. This is everything CNS can offer for now, stay tuned for further media releases. |
