To the people of Sirius - Hone - 12-12-2012

Good day,
I, am Robin Hood.

Now before you turn away in contempt, or dismiss this as spam, rest assured I do not claim to be two thousand years old, use a bow and arrow, or hide in what little forests can be found in our sector. I am simply the current incarnation of the IDEALS of Robin Hood, and I am Deadly Serious.

Don't believe me? Then allow me to prove it; perhaps you will accept the testimony of "black_danamyte" a member of that disgustingly greedy IC who was stuffed full of the rich's playthings, and wouldnt even hire an escort or stop to chat. Well his goods now help sustain the poor, who could previously only afford vital oxygen. Because that's what I do, not just rob the rich like any other pirate, but give to the poor. Of course I dont expect all of you to believe me, some will assume I am just another pirate. These two rhinos didnt believe me, and they missed out on the rewards that my third visitor, a judge just trying to bring some fun to the world, gratefully received. And dont count on your soldiers to protect you, the agents they send after me fail, and I robbed another rich bastard right under the nose of a Libertonian Battlecruiser!

Perhaps you think I stand alone? A madman? Well the Merry Men have influence all over Sirius, like Will Scarlet, who offered this mining group half price, as they had hired an escort, but was rejected by the arrogant fools, and had to destroy the hauler, the escort, and the miner when he refused to pay, and wouldnt even draw the money out of his accounts. Or Friar Tuck, who again proved our commitment to helping the poor by giving a million credits to a struggling trader, even before he had the chance to recoup from the rich. And dont count on your bases to save you, Little John demonstrates we can rob you anywhere, by making off with the rich pickings of a Samura Ore Op, all the while taking heavy fire from their nearby base! he even used the base to his advantage, to hit the supply ship coming in. Though once again showed our friendship to the poor, allowing freighters too poor to pay, to pass unmolested, whilst destroying the transports that attempted to take advantage of his generosity.



So what do we want from you? What is the purpose of this message?


Simple; we want the rich to stop thinking of only themselves, and think of the working man, for the good of everyone. Rich traders fly around with no escorts, then act surprised when they are robbed, petition the soldiers to fight, and it only leads to more bloodshed, them not hiring escorts is what causes people to loose jobs, and turn to piracy, its a vicious cycle.

So, each transport should have 2 escorts, if you have 2, we will leave you alone, if you have 1, thats better than nothing, and we will only charge you half the price, as my man Will tried to do. if you have none, we will take you for all you are worth.

Remember, 2 escorts per transport.



To the Zoners and Junkers


I was very disappointed with the OSI, who I found trading the most valuable ore, without even a single escort. I had always thought zoners to be against that sort of corporate greed, but this one attempted to trick me and run, meaning his ore has now been donated to the poor of Liberty, just see Corona-Wing's testimony for yourself.

Let that be a lesson; I dont wish for hostile relations between our groups, indeed, as you are generally working outside the corporate machine, I am prepared to offer you a deal of "half price", instead of 2 escorts, you only need one to be left alone, and even if you have none, we will only charge half, its up to you.

P.S. to the .:J:. I think we can work out giving the Sherwood Forest a free pass!


To other unlawfuls


We dont wish to be your enemies, but we protect the poor, if we see you robbing those ALREADY without, we will stop you, robbing the poor is of little value, lets work together to rob the rich. Im sure that this, along with perceived "poaching" on your turf, will annoy some of you, we're sorry about that, but it will be up to you to start hostilities, we dont want them.



To house lawfuls


Im sure many of you will just think we are pirates or terrorists, and not believe our good intentions, however you are not our main enemy, unlike some, we wont hunt you down, if you choose to make us fight, instead of concentrating on your wars, you will only be hurting yourselves.

Robin Hood,


Named after some famous guy who helped the weak and poor. Sure, those ideals of helping out those that can't fend for themselves are very good. But you seemed to have missed a few details.

These traders you either tax or nuke also pay parts of their income to governments due to taxes, otherwise they're not allowed to trade between certain places. This taxed money is used to boost a economy further and support the people that live under this government. That means it also supports the weak and poor.

In short, your shooting down of traders and taxing them on your own account doesn't help anyone. Those that can afford a spaceship are already wealthy enough. So what you're doing is just make the rich, richer and the poor even more poor. And don't forget the insurance companies that will make the trade companies smile.

To stop this, I'll just find me a contract. Shoot you down and balance things back to normal. Enjoy the money from the bounty to treat me on some more booze while the traders continue paying their taxes and giving the weak and poor a decent way of life on their planets.

Of course I don't really care that much about traders themselves. But this being a opportunity to kill some more 'I'm a good guy and act like a hero' kind of guys, is always fun.

So let me get this straight. You pirate Zoners. I may not always agree with OSI but you give up much if you choose this action, namely, the right to use a Freeport where you will find people of all walks living amongst each other. If I hear of you doing this, you will be barred from Baffin space and I will make sure all Freeport administrators know of you.

Giving to the poor? I created Med Force Enterprises, now consisting of 3 ships, all of which provide free medical to all. I also created Canaria Medical Center on Gran Canaria for the same reasons. Dr. Doreen Naggers pretty much administrates it now.

Mind you, I fly solo in my transport to fund these entirely of my own credit and would rather jettison into space than give my hard earned credits, intended for research or my temple, to you when I give plenty.

Greetings Mr Hood.
You seem to know very little on the way OSI and indeed Zoners themselves Operate. We as Zoners, do what we can in order to keep ourselves as Neutral as possible, not just to house forces, but to pirates as well, we have a tendency of trying to look as non-threatening as possible, on our more regular routes we do not take Escorts for this very Reason, its only on the more severe dangerous routes in edge space that we use escorts, we have an in house organisation specific for our escorting needs that is open to any and all who would require a job, and are payed a healthy salary along with other benefits within the company.
We dont run our trade ships on their own because we are greedy, far from it, its a show of trust on our part, we allow both sides of the law to frequent our Freeports and use our services, as long as our neutrality is respected. In light of this, we try our best to do the same.

Our Goods are what keep those who have left the safety and trade of house space alive, and in most cases, these people are poor, down on their luck civilians, who depend on our ships, either for the cargo they hold, for work, or for transport between space.
So it begs to wonder now, who it is who's stealing from the poor.
