I got a problem while connecting... - Crocidolite - 01-20-2013

Hey, I'm brand new to this forum, and dunno if this is in the right place, but it seems like it.

Anyhow, onto the problem at hand.

I just started playing freelancer again after many years, and I decided to download Discovery.

I downloaded it. When I attempt to connect to the server, it says "Hold on, the action is taking longer than usual." Or something along the lines of that.

Then after a few minutes it says "I'm sorry, but the account name and password you provided are not valid on this server. Be sure you typed your account name and password correctly then try again."

I don't have an option anywhere for this 'account name and password'?

Where do I enter it.

Thanks. Big Grin

You probally do not have an account, have you tried downloading Freelancer Account Manager? (link at the bottom)

My guess is that you do not have an account loaded and your game did not generate one. Generate an account with FAM and try again

I just did that, installed it, ran it, made an account with the name of Crocidolite, closed it, and ran my Discovery Freelancer.exe. I try to connect to the server, same thing happens.

So I decided to attempt to run as administrator, and I get this excuse from FAM,
Component "ComDLG32.OCX" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered : A file is missing or invalid.

if you have that file re-register it following the steps in that link. The lines you have to type into CMD?

Just re registered it, still says it is missing.
