HF Supply Run - Starsunder - 01-29-2013 As with all navies, the Hellfire Legion uses a fair amount of material for the maintenance and repair of their ships. It is time to take out the trash, literally. Waste has to be disposed and new supplies brought in. Proposed event date and time: Saturday 16th Feb, at 01:00 GMT Groups: 1. HF and allies 2. LSF and allies 3. BIS and allies (optional) The story so far: Loose lips sink ships, as the old saying goes. An off-duty LSF officer who happened to be on Freeport 4 overheard a half-drunk Legionnaire complaining about how much waste backlog the logistics people were dealing with. Let slip were the time and date of the waste removal convoy. Also mentioned was that the convoy would move through Bretonia. Armed with this info, the LSF man goes to his superiors and reports an opportunity to strike at the Hellfire Legion. However, they might have to get permission from their Bretonian counterparts, or perhaps even conduct a joint operation. The HF, on their part, know that the details of the plan were leaked in the Freeport 4 bar, but due to the urgency of the logistics situation, have no choice but to stick to the plan. Expected flow of events: 1) From the posting of this event to the actual event date, RP should be done via comms channel to indicate the attending parties. Example: HF sends a message to Mollys asking for escorts through Bretonia, and Mollys reply indicating the number of ships they can spare. 2) On the event day itself, HF will assemble in Vespucci and attempt to move through Magellan to Bretonia. Most likely there will be an Liberty Lawful blockade there somewhere, yes? 3) Upon successful entry into Bretonia, HF will proceed with their objective of waste disposal / purchase of raw materials. Due to the expected length of time taken for the convoy to travel, it is not feasable to have the Liberty Lawfuls wait for the convoy's return. Therefore, if they really want to chase the HF, the Liberty Lawfuls will have to find some way to chase HF through Bretonia. AFAIK, Liberty Lawfuls are only allowed into Bretonia for the purpose of combating the Gallic threat...? Either way, event will end upon HF's arrival at their sell-point, or when the pursuers give up the chase. However, HF are not to be seen docking on their sell-point. Ship restrictions: HF and allies: 1 x Battleship or smaller 1 x Battlecruiser or smaller 1 x Cruiser or smaller 3 x Gunboat or smaller 10 x Snubs (fighters/bombers) ∞ x Transports LSF and allies: 1 x Battleship or smaller 1 x Battlecruiser or smaller 3 x Gunboat or smaller 3 x Snubs (fighters) 3 x Snubs (fighters/bombers) 1 x Transport BIS and allies: 1 x Cruiser or smaller 2 x Gunboat or smaller 5 x Snubs (fighters) 3 x Snubs (fighters/bombers) Reasoning behind ship restrictions: HF Cruisers and above are not allowed into Bretonia. It is also unlikely that all the snubs which start out with the convoy will move through to Bretonia with it. Some will have to stay behind and cover the caps in Magellan. Also, due to the large number of transports, can't have too many bombers or they'll just be insta-killed, won't they? Leave a comment with your thoughts! RE: HF Supply Run - Echo 7-7 - 01-30-2013 Just scratch Cap presence entirely. Neither side should be able to spare it anyway. GBs and down. RE: HF Supply Run - Starsunder - 01-30-2013 Why should neither side be able to spare any caps? Is there some other event going on at the same time? I'm guessing that there will be no shortage of LNS caps... HF, on the other hand, might be shorthanded. Maybe we can get some Molly snubs to do the escorting, so the caps are just for some pews in Mag...or at least, that's what I was thinking... RE: HF Supply Run - Echo 7-7 - 01-30-2013 The question is more to do with being able to get 10 ships per side (or more) and which ship classes to be flown should get priority. If you can get the proposed number, then one or two caps won't hurt. The involvement of BIS will also need to be carefully considered, mostly by themselves - they would need to use deniable assets or risk war with HF. RE: HF Supply Run - Starsunder - 01-30-2013 I'm hoping that the time of Friday night/Saturday morning will be acceptable to most. Numbers-wise, those are just the maximum limits. Less is also ok. Assuming that there is interest, and the timing is ok, between the 3 Liberty lawful factions and BHG there shouldn't be an issue. HF and Mollys (and maybe Xenos?) *should* also be able to muster the numbers. Again, this all hinges on the Liberty lawfuls' interest in said event, and whether they want to RP with the Bretonians for chasing. Else it'll just be a blockade event where the convoy just simply needs to break through and the Liberty lawfuls try to stop them from escaping Magellan. RE: HF Supply Run - Yber - 01-30-2013 Why not snubs only? [HF]-Not.Funny will try to log. RE: HF Supply Run - SummerMcLovin - 01-31-2013 As a note, the Legion is decidedly neutral with Bretonia so BIS likely would not help out directly. The LSF do have permission to operate in certain systems without needing to ask, but that doesn't mean they can't do some RP about this known operation anyway. Of course, flying alongside the Mollys openly would change things... RE: HF Supply Run - Sayfog - 02-01-2013 I can haz in on a prossy? If so [HF]-Indiana.Riley will be there! RE: HF Supply Run - Starsunder - 02-14-2013 If anyone knows whether Liberty Lawfuls are coming, please post here and let me know... I haven't gotten a response from Soul Reaper yet... RE: HF Supply Run - Starsunder - 02-16-2013 Looks like no one's coming. Postponed until further notice. |
