Best to edit your Freelancer shortcuts with the Server IP's on it.

But that doenst seem like a problem to me, since you can connect and play.

If you connect it shows you your ping, is that high (like 400+) or low (like 30/40) the higher it gets the more lag you will have server side.
Now I know there were some problems with the server in the last few weeks but I thought they cleared for the most part... or was that just me?!:)

Clear your rubbish bin of things you don't need. I herd effects net speed?

Clear Cookies, cache, Internet files...ect...ect

Do a complete power down of your router. leave it unplugged for 45 seconds to 2 minutes to remove static cool it off, and reset it.

Repair the windows connection after reset

If necessary repair TCP/IP tables. This can be a problem sometimes.

If you have Xfire try joining the server through Xfire. It also acts as direct connect.

Thats all I got. If you have Vista, your petty much screwed unless you know what your doing and you have 3 hours to fix what you need to fix in Vista to make it work.

If your still experiencing problems, do a internet speed test. If its slow, or bellow your standard speed, speak with your ISP. Make sure they are not blocking the IP range. They did that to me for some reason?
Lag is connection. But if you are experiencing lag, and the connection icon that flashes yellow or red does not show, then its your computer hardware. (Client side issue)
