BBC Talk with tonight’s host: Jessa Carpenter!

*applause*

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome! Thank you, thank you.

*the applause fades*

For tonight’s edition we have a special guest in from the Armed Forces to present to you the current reforms within the Bretonian Merchant Navy and why they matter to you!

*pauses*

Dublin races… are they as safe as many claim them to be? Our inside man talks as in one recent race yet another fatality has occurred.

*pauses and points her arm at the background screen*

Then we will take you live to the fields of Cambridge where the first crops treated with the renowned product Flora-Grow are being harvested. We will give you an inside on how farmers apply this to their crops and bring opinions from both marketers and critics. Is the fertilizer free of faults or is there a potential health risk?

*the camera zooms out as miss Carpenter turns towards a bald man in an armed forces uniform sitting across the table*

But first of all, allow me to welcome you: Commodore Eddie Carr, we are very pleased you could join us tonight.

“Thank you, good evening”

Tell us Commodore Carr, what is the current situation out there? How are things with the armed forces?

“I cannot discuss that to the full extent, I can tell you that the situation we face is unprecedented and dangerous…”

*she interrupts*

Some tacticians fear for the survival of Bretonia, is this true?

*Carr looks up with a slight form of disappointment yet smiles within the second*

“Not as long as we live and breathe ma’am. There are countless men and women who are ready and willing to face the threat that is now upon us. Our economy is in full support and I am a strong believer in the cause. Our resolve has never been stronger! New tactics and ideas are being worked out every day. To see everyone fulfill their duties on a daily basis is inspiring and no house, no foe can ever crush that.”

Rule Bretonia as we say

*she smiles and looks again at her papers in front of her then continues with the interview*

Now commodore you … spoke of new tactics and ideas… as we understand it the Merchant Navy has undergone several reforms in the past few months… according to inside sources you have even received additional means from the crown. Now… what kind of reforms exactly, tell us what has happened over the past few months.

“Yes,…”

*Carr shuffles in his chair a bit, leans forward and begins his explanation*

“Firstly we began with moving our HQ towards our capital Planet New London, due to the dangerous situation in Leeds. We still operate there and we have not abandoned the people of Leeds. We continue to ferry refugees towards our ally Liberty where they can support the war effort from outside of Bretonia in the production of the much needed boron. Throughout recent days we have received new resources, repaired our ships and gone over our personnel files. We have come to the conclusion that there are at this point many superior officers and experienced crew, yet it is not enough.”

Yes we have received word that Merchant Navy is looking for civilian pilots and transport pilots to join their ranks…

“Indeed, we call upon all men and women that seek adventure. Those that have never set foot outside of Bretonia and wish to see something of Sirius. This is their opportunity, their chance for valour and honour. Mind you, I do not wish to minimalize the role of our brave frontline fighters but allow me to tell you that we do need goods from abroad to facilitate our ongoing effort against our foes. We need men and women to assemble the many military goods we bring in, we need transport pilots, scouts… and so on. We have been able to streamline our administration and our consoles have been updated with the latest of security measures and applications.”

So basically you have been handed the tools but not the manpower?

*he sighs and nods*

“I do not wish to debate the decisions made by our Admiralty, they are sound and well considered. They are involved in the struggle and do not simply sit back and hand out orders.”

You mean to say that they fight on the frontline as well?

“This I cannot say for obvious reasons and because of the fact that I seldom see the frontline battles. But for my part I do join convoys, face the same dangers as our pilots as a true commander should.”

*the camera focuses back on Carpenter whilst the link still flashes underneath the screen*

So you have heard it ladies and gentlemen the armed forces are doing everything they can to keep our supply lines safe. If you wish to become a part of the effort and …

*This time Carr interrupts*

“More importantly if you wish to matter!"

*the camera focuses back on Carpenter*

Yes… then please follow the neural net link on your screen where you can find the Merchant Navy’s online recruitment center.

Commodore Carr, I’m afraid our time is up for now. We wish you all the best and are with you in full spirit! Thank you for coming to our studio.

“Thank you”

*after the wide focus the camera the camera turns towards the left half of the table again*

That is all for now Ladies and Gentlemen, we will be right back after the break with more news and stories about the Dublin deathtraps.

*an explosion can be seen on the background screen*

And with inside opinions concerning Flora-Grow

*canisters of Flora-Grow and protestors can be seen on the background screen as a big yellow question mark flashes in front.*

We will be right back with more
