Freespace and Freespace 2 - Zachary.Corfu - 02-06-2013

So has anyone here played FS and FS2? I think its a great game.
Its a lot more complicated than Freelancer to control your ship, and I think its a good game that can replace many spacecraft simulators. Especially balancing powercore to favor shield regen, or energy to the guns, and engine power. Also lovge the fact that if you lose shielding on one side of your ship you can even out the other sides of your shield so that the shield-less side would have a shield.

So what do you guys think about these games?

I played Freespace a while back. Loved it. The only thing I disliked was one of the weapons that you unlocked around the middle of the campaign, the Banshee, I think. Most annoying sound ever.

I am actually considering whether to buy Freespace 2 or not. Worth it?

Totally worth it. It's more the same though, but better too. Bigger capital ships. There are plenty really interesting and high quality custom campaigns for it, like bizarre and cryptic transcend mod.

Just found the demo for FS2. Gonna give that a try first before deciding on whether to buy it or not.

FS2 is worth it, the ending is SO related to Freelancer's intro (if youve seen the extended one).
Ever tried to kill a Sathanas WITHOUT CYCLOPS torpedoes? I have before.
