Hya again this is a mostly ooc post if thats allowed, sorry.
I was Investigating an Ice field in tau 28 ( i think) and after skillfully avoiding the mines in the area i managed to clear a wreck of a 'kusari elite fighter' It dropped a rather shiney looking class 10 weapon, classified as jade.
I am no way near close to being able to use this weapon, nor am i sure about the RP criteria for it...But say i made my way into Kusari space and tried to return this weapon to the kusari government for a small fee for example..would this be ok?
[edit] Oh yea..these wrecks..Do they respawn the cargo you can salvage, and how rare are those named guns?

of course it'd be ok, but you should hang onto it or at least get decent money for it.
Codenames are found on wrecked ships all around sirius. There's over 20 different types of codename weapons in the mod, all of them are class 10's with exceptional stats.
Most codenames sell for 5-10million credits based on quality and rarity.

heh, thats a very novel idea! I like it!
codenames havent really been used like that before (that I am aware of) most people will just stick them onto thier ships or sell them.
you might get a bit of cash for it (say, 500k)
Jades are one of the more common codenames, and aren't worth as much as some of the rarer ones.

Most wrecks will respawn weapons when the server re-boots, some are only good once. That's why some of the codies are so darned expensive... 15 mil or more from a private buyer.

All codename wrecks can only be looted once by any particular character.

Thats good to know. I have spent hours in a system retrying for a wreck to give me a codie... and it never happened. I guess I should have held on to it when I got it the first time.
I think the locations of the wrecks should be kept a surprise for those who dont know already.

Puck, the Excalibur wreck can be looted multiple times. It's probably the best 2.0 codename...
Anyway, it's good RP for you to return said weapons to factions. I roleplayed with the NovaPG to give them GMG weapons as part of a deal against Samura... Instead of the 5-10 million I would have gotten, the NovaPG member gave me 25 million for the assistance. Lucky me?
