Bucket - Ayem - 02-14-2013 Hello folks, I was wondering what the state of play was like these days. Are battleships really popping traders? Who's at war? Where's your current favourite place to RP, or where would you RP if you weren't already committed elsewhere? And to all those who remember him, Bucket ses Hello! Is nice meet you again. RE: Bucket - SummerMcLovin - 02-14-2013 Hello! I wasn't around to remember you, but I've become fairly cemented here Pirates with the access to cruisers and battleships can use them against transports, as can lawful ones with smugglers. They do still need to make a demand before engaging (in most cases). Bretonia and Gallia are at war, with the Colonials, Council, Outcasts, Exiles, SCRA and Liberty helping out in Leeds. Rheinland and Liberty are still at war. Kusari is left to stew on its own for a while, hence being rather dead. My favourite RP just now is the Colonial Republic, and Bretonia (Police Authority) is a nice source of paperwork too. Have fun if you are coming back. RE: Bucket - nOmnomnOm - 02-14-2013 Kusari is still dead. I don't know why we can't think of something to make it more popular. Or maybe its just because a significant amount of people would have to move in order to make it attractive. The Liberty and Rheinland war died down a bit. My favorite place to RP at the moment is in Liberty as a Liberty Rogue. Its quite fun actually and I don't mind the ganks as much. Plenty of pickings for someone of a piratical bent. I think one of the issues people face in Kusari is one of overwhelming force. When the KNF log on, it's usually in something much bigger than anyone else can handle. I might try running around in a Kusari GB again, because that was always fun. But yes, I've lost track of the number of times a KNF battleship pops up in Kyushu or Honshu and I say "Sayonara" and split. That said, these days my outcast gunboat is probably in the minority, compared to all the destroyers and battleships that the Houses would have to deal with. The other issue is the history of Kusari pirate/quasi-lawful factions. On my traders, whenever I saw Hogosha, I expected to die. Whenever I saw a Blood Dragon, I expected to die. If it was AFA, I expected to die horribly. Golden Chrysanthemums were generally reasonable, and more open to conversational RP rather than pure monetary/exile demands. If the above pirate factions reduced their demands considerably, and worked on making each encounter both heart-thuddingly tense, and still enjoyable (for both sides), Kusari would lose its semi-toxic reputation. I'm saying this from experience that is several months out of date, however. I could be way off. But i haven't heard of any Rhineland raids. Only Texas ones RE: Bucket - Loken - 02-14-2013 Are you thinking of coming back again? I've missed you sir. The server is getting quieter and really it's mostly just the same stuff going on as there was two years ago. Capital ships can blow up transports now though, you're right about that. Then there's player bases, including the fancy toys and server crashing base sieges that come with them of course. Good times. And yes Kusari is more dead than ever after the changes in 4.86 removed the few things there were actually to do for Kusari factions. Same with Gallia really, it's current design is counter-productive to playing there unless you're a power-trader. Fortunately these things are going to get fixed soon. (I hope) Still plenty of fun to be had if you don't mind looking for it. (02-14-2013, 07:45 AM)nOmnomnOm Wrote: But i haven't heard of any Rhineland raids. Only Texas onesThey happen and when they do they are magnificant. Usually something like thirty battlecruisers spamming cruiser missiles. RE: Bucket - nOmnomnOm - 02-14-2013 Server can be quiet also because of the time of year. RL stuff and all. RE: Bucket - Stoat - 02-14-2013 Welcome back to the mix mate! Get your butt to Bretonia..... RE: Bucket - Ayem - 02-14-2013 I was out and about on one of my mollies yesterday, the.traitor's. Almost killed by a POS Molly base. Realized jumpholes were subject to cosmic drift and spent a while discovering. Stoat! Your stories! They are strong! I've missed the old *.....*, are the Wilde treating you well? And I've missed you too Loken. :< |
