Account ID issues - Gstayton - 06-16-2008

I didn't know where else to post this... There seems to be no support areas...

Mkay, so... Before anyone asks, Yes, I have my original ID, however... I'm on a new computer and it won't work...

I started out getting the myflaccountid, and replacing the original with it.
When that didn't work, I proceeded to do some registry edits, first just replacing the numbers, then deleting them all together and letting them all replace themselves.
When I went in game after deleting them all, it prompted me to enter an ID, the one already displayed was mine. I proceeded with it. My character still doesn't show...

I had someone tell me it was because I am on a different computer, is this true? and if so, is there a way around it? I switch computers every two weeks over the summer, and its a real setback to have to restart...

Any help appreciated... Danke

Use FAM to store your Accounts from the First Computer.
Edit the comments field and store the Original FL ID (not required really, but it keeps everything you need in
one place).
Export this ADF file.

Install and run FL in second computer, let it create a default FL ID. Just invoke multiplayer, no need to connect
to server (this will create the FL ID key). Now, exit FL.

Install FAM, it will ask to store new account, ignore or press cancel. Import your ADF File.
Activate your account from FAM by double clicking the account.

Then open reg editor and change the Key - "InstallKey" to your FL ID manually.

Launch FL and connect to server, enjoy:)

Ah, that helps..
But, I cant do that for another 2 weeks...
What exactly is it the account manager does? And can it be replicated manually?
I was planning on being able to play Freelancer over these two weeks as Crysis dosnt run well on this computer...

Again, thanks for the help, I will have to set that up next time through.

Hope to see you ingame ;P

Basically, the account manager creates a list of different usable registry keys to use for freelancer. When you activate an account, it replaces the current one, with one from the list.

But thats just it, I DID replace the ID manually... And it didnt work...
Well, as of right now I cant play my old account for 2 weeks because the myflaccountid file has no ID now... Even the one I uploaded as a backup... Do they reset or something?

The Install Key (FL ID), Account Code & Signature are all tied up in some way. Might be CRC or pattern match or something.
Hence you cannot install FL with new ID and then try to set your account code & signature and expect it to work.

If you still have the values for these 3 keys - InstallKey, MPAccountName, MPAccountSig from your previous
machine nothing's lost.
Just install FL on your new machine and connect once, so it creates these keys then exit FL.
Regedit and modify all values to your previous install, restart FL, connect to disco.

Ah, well then... I will just have to wait 2 weeks till I can run FL account manager on my other computer... -_-

Owell, I have another account going fairly well with a trader which I plan to go smuggler with ;P

It is possible that your characters were mistakenly deleted. When was the last time you used them?

Errrr... the day I lost them =\ I changed computers and tryed to log in with no success... If my char was deleted.... im gonna be sad...
