Is there a flight tactics guide? - nOmnomnOm - 02-23-2013

I'm just wondering cause ever since I started playing disco I've been jousting. Whenever I see someone not jousting and flying in circles around me and hitting me constantly im just like:

:O
:O
:O

HOW U DO THAT

When I try to do the same thing it doesn't seem to have the same results. Is there maybe a guide someone did that has different tactics and flying styles that they shared?

Would be nice if someone did. Heart

btw this is excellent inRP handbook, I'm working on something similar for Daumann. Kudos to Blodo and all who helped to write it.

Well, there's this for a start. The best way to learn though really is to have someone teach you in game.

EDIT: Aaaaand, ninja'd.

And there's that one.

However, best is to find a teacher ingame.

There was something about duckturning or something, about using reverse mid turn or somesuch. Never got a hang of it, gave up on VHFs short after.

Well, Turret steer is a must while flying with a cruiser \ battleship, which btw works perfectly on osiris class battleship, and turtles ( RH ).
Normaly, there is no "strategy" - you just go into zoom, place your camera behind ur vessel, and shoot the enemy while focusing his gunfire ( battleship cerbs/primaries are slow so you have plenty of time to dodge them ) - it's best to keep atleast 2k.m away from battleships for which you will have enough time to dodge and enough range to damage ur opponent.
One "strategy" that I can think of, is having a cruiser/battleship missile turret, for one simple reason : it damages the enemy's aim for a short while ( at this point ur mortar/heavy guns should go into action ).
I find the missile to be more useful on my osiris, because 5 order primaries will wreck anything.
Be intuitive but only act with reason.
