3D error. - bearlee89 - 06-17-2008

Ok. So we recently (hours ago) upgraded and reformated this computer. I transferred all my FL files to an external hard drive. After reinstalling everything need to run FL and the Discovery mod, I go to start my game (more than once time) before and after throwing my old account information in. And I get the Error Video card is not 3d capable. Or some BS like that...but I'm pretty sure it is. And I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the game and get the same error message....Can someone please help me. It's 4:45am. And I want to play for a few.

=[

I'm going to assume its the standard FL unrecognised video card error? Well if you're confident of your cards abilities simply ignore it and play.

It won't let me. It just says [OK]

And I have to click it.

Then it closes it.

Could you screen shot it?

Ermm...It's been a while since I've had to, so I don't know how to take one outside of the game...sorta...or where to find it.

BUT

This is what it says

[Freelancer Fatal Error ]
| Freelancer did not detect a 3D capable video card in your system]
| If you have a 3D capable video card in your system, please try rebooting, you may have to reinstall.]
| [OK] ]

i guess you can easily check your 3d settings in your / system information / extras / dxdiag tool / direct 3d

make sure you have directx installed ( current version is dx9c june08 ) i think

make sure you have the correct video driver ( detonator, omega or whatever you use )

if your dxdiag tool runs the direct 3d flawlessly, you have an appropriate driver and card, if not, it ll tell you what you re missing.
