Bourbon & Whiskey - Ingenious - 03-03-2013
Who likes bourbon and whiskey? I am particularly fond of it. I just finished a handle of Ezra Brooks and have dipped into some Evan Williams this weekend. Keep in mind, I'm on a tight budget when it comes to drinking. Your tastes may be more refined.

I'm a fair fan of the above two, mostly drink Scottish whisky as a spirit when my flatmates and I decide (and can afford) to. Otherwise it is cheaper stuff like beer.

I'm a fan of Bushmills,the one with the white label.
Everything else in Bulgaria is kinda meh.Most of it is spirit and essence anyways.

I approve! For those of you who don't know I happen to be Scottish and I am very keen on Whisky. I do also drink Whisky's from other countries, there are some Bourbons I like to, but I generally mix those when drinking. If I ever drink Whisky dry I prefer to go for a nice Scottish one (assuming I can afford it students budget depending
) of course I'm perhaps prejudiced to like my countries own, but ours to me are rather unique. A brilliant smokey aroma which is lacking in other Whisky's and living inScotland I have access to sp many different varieties.Mmmmmmm......
EDIT: My dad used to be a member if the Edinburgh Whisky Society I think it was called, they had exclusive Single Malt and Single Cast whisky's available to try which weren't available to the general public.
And my god they were fantastic! When I go back home I can't wait to go back.

Even Irish is with an 'e'Cheap ones you can mix, but a decent one is with ice or a little water at most.
Also, nice to see another Scot around (other than Slainte of course). You should totally add me on Skype (and if you are the Platinum dude, do so anyway).

This means I drink very little whisky, in order to be kind to my wallet.

I think I've got a fairly old bottle of Glennfiddich that I've been avoiding for my own good. Might give it a go some day. Just, well... Some other day.

Well, I'm a complete heathen when it comes to drinking whiskey, because I don't do it right. I don't put ice cubes or water in it, I prefer it straight and undiluted - so an initial smooth taste helps.
Evan Williams - it's not bad if there's nothing else available.
Evan Williams Honey - better than straight Evan, but not as good as Jack.
Jim Beam - Honestly, a bit harsh for the first ounce or so, after that it's fine.
Jack Daniels Black - Pretty decent
Jack Daniels Honey - It's probably just me, but I like the sweetness that the honey adds.
Makers Mark - Decent, but I prefer Jack
Canadian Mist - I don't like the taste.
Bushmills - Single Malt is better than blended, but ouch on the wallet. Oh, and is better than Jack.
Glenfiddich - Yeah ... just wish I could afford it more often.
Note that these are all whiskeys / bourbons that I have had within the last two years. I typically do about 4 - 6 ounces at a time when I have a glass, which is normally no more than every other weekend.

Due to my severaly limited funds, I can't get any of the top quality whiskey, so I'm gunna have to go with Wild Turkey 101...yes I know, good ol' rotgut.
