Joleia, a junker among the stars - Joleia - 03-09-2013 Chapter: 1
A junker among the stars Ever since i was little i had looked up at the stars, the beautiful lights in the sky that seemed almost to call my name. My father had said that one day i too would leave here and fly the stars just like my mother did before i was born. i hardly knew my mother as the stars called to her just a strongly as they call to me, she had left to fly with the stars again only a few months after i was born. She had always sent messages telling me of what it was like in space, of the wonders it had in store. She sent these messages every month always trying to stay in contact with me and my father. Eventually however the messages stopped. I had asked father why mother had stopped talking to us. He would just look at me and smile. "she'll talk to us soon, we just have to be patient." It was a few days before my fifth birthday, The last message we received from my mother was more than a year ago. A little around noon or so there was a knock on the door, it was a military man bearing a letter and a small box. As my father took the letter and the box, i could see sorrow fill his eyes. "I'm sorry, the shot went astray. There was nothing i could do..." Said the military man, an apologetic look on his face. The military man gave my father a salute before apologizing one last time and leaving. The letter detailed the incident and what had happened as well as contained a letter of credit from the government for five million credits, the box on the other hand was from my mothers ship. It was strong enough to survive a nuclear blast but even it had dents in it. Inside was an audio log as well as some papers. The audio log was my mothers last unsent message to us, she had been recording it at the time she was hit. It talked of where she was and what she had seen. In the middle of one of her sentences a loud noise was heard followed by alarms. The last part of the message you could here my mom talking, trying to be calm, but there was a rushed tone to it. She had told me that she loved me and couldn't wait to fly with me. I didn't know it back then as i was to young to understand but today only a few days before my seventeenth birthday i finally understand, my mother didn't mean she couldn't wait to fly with me in space. What she really said, not with her voice but with her heart was "I'll always be with you". The papers that were in the box was blueprints for my mothers ship, she had been on her way to give them to me on my birthday but never made it. It took me thirteen years but i finally finished it my first ship. I just have one last piece to add but i'll save it till my birthday. That way i can add the last piece with my father. It's not an important piece to the ship but it's the only thing that will make the ship have a soul. I had to ask my father many times over the years if he would let me me have it and he just recently agreed. The same box my mother had on her ship i'm adding to my ship, that way it really will feel like me and my mother are flying together. Your probably tired of listening to me talk on about my past so i'll cut this log here and see you in space. Junker Joleia out... *Log ends* // If your reading this and see a mistake somewhere pm me about it and i'll fix it. RE: Joleia, a junker among the stars - Joleia - 01-31-2019 Chapter: 2
The Return It has been many years since i last transmitted a log, i had decided to go on a journey of discovery, attempting to discover who i am in this vast galaxy and what my place it. I had hoped to find answers as i drifted through the stars, traveling from one station to another, taking what jobs i could, sometimes ending up on the wrong side of the law. I once even took a job where i had to escort a transporter which was beset upon by pirates, a few i called allies not even a week before. Though that doesnt really matter. What does matter is i return from my journey with no answers, though what i did find changed me, changed who i am down to my core. While i am still named Joleia, i am no longer the Joleia of old. In my return i hope i am able to begin life anew, make new friends, perhaps even find some old ones. Coming back brings me so many memories, of my mother and father, old friends i'll never see again, and others who might only recognize me in passing. It is my hope that while there were no answers outside of well known space, perhaps the answers i was looking for were close by, and i just never noticed because i didnt have questions back then. See you all soon space cowboys, Junker joleia, signing out. *Log ends*
