Frequent crashes - Gurbachen - 03-10-2013

Hey guys, I'm experiencing crashes about 9/10 times I try to log in to the server. Crash occurs just after selecting character. Most of the time it gets stuck on Loading, shows the Taking Longer... warning then crashes to desktop. Sometimes it'll load graphics for a fraction of a second, then same thing. Turned off 3D sound, copied vanilla DATA folder to Disco folder, then merged with the Disco DATA folder. Here is a link to my FLSpew file, I have no idea what it means. Hope the link works, only just signed up to dropbox.

Any help appreciated.

RE: Frequent crashes - indy.miner1 - 03-10-2013

why are you merging vanilla folder into the disco folder?

disco installation copies files it need to the disco folder from a fresh install of fl

try doing this

uninstall disco
uninstall vanilla

delete all traces of the folders

install vanilla without any mods

then install disco, let it update if it needs to

It was suggested in another crash thread. Instructions were along these lines

1. Cut Disco DATA folder elsewhere.
2. Copy Vanilla DATA folder to Disco folder.
3. Overwrite Vanilla folder with Disco folder.

I think it's just supposed to replace missing files or something, no idea, but it worked for someone.

:edit: I'm back in again now, but it'll start again at some point. I feel like if it were missing files or something then it would happen every time, not just sometimes.

::edit:: Aaaand it's crashing again. Although it's been a few different fault modules, it's been KERNELBASE.DLL the last several times, and it's actually happened with a couple other programs in the past hour or so. System scan tool didn't find anything wrong though so I still don't know.
