pattern to the ddos....? - Joleia - 03-11-2013

the last few times that i have been out gathering codenames the ddos attack has happened a few minutes after i get a a few codenames from 41 and 55, it has happened the last few times i got codenames there and everytime after the attacks i end up back at the last place i docked with all my stuff gone aside from what was equiped. could the attacks be someone collecting codenames?

No, that would be considered a looting bug. DDoS attacks are Distributed Denial Of Service attacks where multiple computers flood a specific IP with packets. That last crash got me stuck in Shikoku for 15 minutes -_-;

with the fact that it has happened at the time of a restart when the codenames are reset and has only happened when im on after i get codes from those systems i personally think it's someone after code weps.

I highly doubt someone would go through the trouble of DDOSing the entire server for the simple cause of 'collecting codenames.'

The person doing it is doing it because they dislike several individuals on this server, perhaps along with the way it runs itself aswell.

I'm sick of it. Just give me their IPs, I have a few new client-side exploits in BackTrack I want to try out.

This.

I think it is more likely to be someone who has been sanctioned/banned from the server for some reason and decided that since they can't play, that they will make it as difficult as possible for anyone else to play.

This has happened before in the past and I have no doubt that it will happen again in the future.

i know but it always seems to happen about 30 minutes after a restart when people are out collecting codenames. the timing just seems a bit off if you understand the way i'm looking at this.

Yes, I can see where you are coming from with this.
Granted the timing IS a little interesting when you put it that way.
