Standoff: A short LPI Adventure - lIceColon - 03-15-2013 "This can either end good, or end bad, William!" LPI Trainee Henry Anderson was prepared to engage his thruster. Apparently being within 5 kilometers range wasn't scary enough to cause the Rogue fear. Staring at the Rogue's gunfire directed at the helpless trade lane, Henry armed his countermeasure. What if the Rogue wan't deterred? Then Henry would have to get closer, and risk getting hit. But if he didn't get closer, then this Rogue might hurt civilians arriving at Manhattan via the trade lane. "Yarr, nope" came the reply from within the static. Henry turned a knob, and amplified his space siren. "Give it up, there's no where to run!" Shouted Henry. He inched forward a bit, careful not to get within 4.5K of the Rogue ship. Henry fired off a few shots: "these are some warning shots, now step away from your vehicle without wearing your spacesuit, now!" "nope nope nope nope nope!" Seems like the Rogue still did not appreciate the circumstances he was in. Henry was gonna have to get closer. Suddenly, the Liberator's alarm system went off, and Henry panicked, and smashed his fist into the ship's comm systems, disabling it. He then stared at the navigational computer: "Ion Storm Imminent" said the status feed. Before Henry could react, his ship's systems shut down, and he could feel the emptiness. Life support was down, artificial gravity was down, lights dimmed and the ship's heating system was failing as well. Henry began to sweat- this could be the end of him. So much for that salary. |
