Random Indestructible Shields - Veygaar - 03-15-2013
Ok so myself, Shadow.Man|R|, and two other |R| members were raiding Gamma and the strangest of things started happening.
First off, no one could damage NPCs. No big deal, I had heard this was a problem since the new updates.
Next. Yber couldn't damage actual players. He was SNACing and EMPing a Gunboat with a ECG| tag and it wasn't doing anything, BUT he was taking damage FROM it.
Next. I engaged the Gunboat and noticed when it shot me it did no damage! But I was able to SNAC it all day and do damage.
NEXT. A Corsair bomber flies into the brawl and engages my boy Kaz, who is ALSO now indestructible from the Bomber's fire, but he IS taking damage from the Gunboat!
We finally get over ourselves and do a little testing. The Corsair bomber can't damage myself or Kaz, but we can both damage him and each other. The bomber can, however, damage Yber's bomber but Yber can't damage him.
....so yeah.

[15.03.2013 14:52:19] CONSOLE: I'm getting reports that damage isn't working. I am going to restart the server to fix this.
[15.03.2013 14:52:36] CONSOLE: It will be down for only a minute or so.
Something about the DDoS protection triggering the anti-cheat and preventing full damage for some players.
Guess it keeps happening and needs to be reset repeatedly. That, or we all need to cosy up and fight with words and dice rolls (or BS missiles)

What I found weird is that a ship can damage some ships yet not others. I thought Anti-Cheat would prevent any damage from being dealt out by a ship.
Meh, oh well
I wonder how many claims of "cheater" are gona be thrown around the next few days
